Sam Dillard have launched a succesful Kickstarter campaign for his arrangement of music from the The Legend of Zelda series. The arrangement will by a symphonic tribute in the style of cinematic movie scores.
The campaign was launched on April 18, 2017, was succesfully funded, and ended on May 18, 2017.
Vinyl rewards are expected to begin shipping in September 2017.
Vinyl Digital have released Shag’s Flyrule album, which is a remixed instrumental hiphop version of the The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time soundtrack.
It is a single LP in a cover with new art by Micha Quär. It comes on gold colored vinyl and is limited to 300 copies.
It was announced on May 4, 2017 and started shipping a few weeks before the official release date on May 26, 2017.
Bit Brigade have announced in their e-mail newsletter that they will be releasing a reworked version of their The Legend Of Zelda cover album on vinyl.
The release will be a single LP on gold-colored vinyl in a regular album jacket.
Preorders opened July 24, 2017 and it is scheduled to release in late August, 2017.
Mariachi Entertainment System did a Kickstarter for their second album, which includes a vinyl option at the $225 tier.
The Kickstarter was succesfully funded on July 31, 2016 and expect to ship its rewards to backers in February 2017.
UPDATE: As of March 2017 I have yet to see any indication that these have shipped.
A 7″ containing two reworks of Koji Kondo’s music for Super Mario Bros. and The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time have been released by Systorm Technologies.
Side A is a Super Mario Bros. medley by Bokatsu while Side B is a cover of Song of Storms by Pliant.
It is limited to 500 copies.
Hero Of Time is a musical retelling of the story of “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” performed by a live orchestra, which was announced on Kickstarter by Materia Collective on September 30, 2016. One of the backer rewards is a vinyl album of the recording.
The campaign met its $50,000 backing goal on October 31, 2016.
Vinyl copies have been done by iam8bit and the performance is done by the National Slovak Symphony Orchestra.
It is a 2LP with one record on translucent green vinyl with white splatter and the other on purple & white merge.
Preorders for non-backers opened on December 9, 2016 and the record released late June 2017.
A 7″ featuring arranged and remixed versions of some of Koji Kondo’s tracks from Super Mario Bros. have been released by King Records.
This is a promotional version with slightly different artwork.
A 7″ with a jazz cover version of the classic Super Mario Bros. overworld theme performed by The Handy Dandy Boys and Janet Klein have been released on Moga Records.
The b-side features a non-gaming related track called Bye Bye Blues and is exclusive to this 7″.
An LP featuring the original soundtrack to the 1986 animated movie was released by VAP.
