Turrican 30th Anniversary Sound Collection

Strictly Limited Games have released a collection of original and arranged music from the Turrican series on vinyl.

The release is a 7LP box set on colored vinyl. It is housed in a slipcase boxset with printed inner sleeves. It is limited to 1000 numbered copies. It also includes a download code, two postcards and a reversible poster.

Preorders opened on August 27, 2020 and it was scheduled to release in February/March, 2021, but was delayed multiple times before releasing in mid-December, 2022.

ReFourmation

Matt Gray have finished a successful Kickstarter campaign for his fourth Reformation album titled “ReFourmation” with a vinyl option.

The release will be a 3LP limited to 250 copies. There are currently no further details of the packaging.

The campaign finished successfully on July 20, 2020 and vinyl copies were scheduled to release in March, 2022, but has currently been pushed to an unspecified 2024 release.

The Essential Games Music Collection Vol. 1

Silva Screen and Diggers Factory have released the 2011 orchestral arrangement album “The Essential Games Music Collection Vol. 1” on vinyl.

The release is a single 140g black vinyl LP. It is housed in a regular LP jacket with a slightly modified version of its original 2011 digital cover art. It is limited to 1300 copies.

Preorders opened on July 14, 2020 and it released in September, 2020.

Turrican – Orchestral Selections

Chris Hülsbeck have run a succesfully funded a Kickstarter campaign for a new orchestral recording called Turrican Orchestral Selections. The release contains arranged music from Turrican 1-3.

The project launched May 31, 2017 and ended succesfully on June 18, 2017 with more than $90,000 in funding of an $85,000 goal.

The release is a 2LP on black vinyl housed in a gatefold jacket.

Physical rewards were scheduled to ship in April, 2018, but suffered several delays. They began shipping out in April, 2019.

This is the standalone vinyl release.

The release is a 2LP on black vinyl and also includes the release on CD. Additionally, it also comes with a new TFMX  album, which is the soundtrack to the fictional Turrican 4.  It is housed in a box set with new artwork. The release is limited to 1000 numbered copies.

Turrican II The Orchestral Album

Chris Hülsbeck, the composer for Turrican II, have launched a Kickstarter for an orchestral version of his score for the game. The Kickstarter aims to release the orchestral recording in a limited edition box set containing the recording on CD and 2LP.

The box sets are individually numbered and limited to 1000 copies.

The campaign was launched on May 10, 2016 and was succesfully funded on May 28. The box set shipped out to backers in April 2017.

The Piano Collection

During a succesful Kickstarter campaign, for a collection of piano versions of game music composed by Chris Hülsbeck, backers could opt for a double vinyl option. A full tracklist isn’t available but it will feature music from Turrican II and R-Type among others. Backers were set to receive their copies of the vinyl record in late August, 2015.

Orders were later opened in January 2016 for the remaining copies of the album.

Turrican Soundtrack Anthology – The Final Fight (Main Title From Turrican 2)

A 12″ featuring remixes and arranged versions of Chris Hülsbeck’s music from the game has been released. It features versions of The Final Fight and T2 Loader & The Desert Rocks. It was released by Chris Huelsbeck Productions.

The 12″ was made available for Kickstarter backers of a Kickstarter project. Minimum backing price was $250.
