Sword & Sworcery LP – The Ballad Of The Space Babies

Jim Guthrie’s full soundtrack to Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP have been released in a series of different pressings with special art prints (and without). All pressings have been released by Dark Flute.

It was revealed in a retrospective article by The Verge and by Jim Guthrie on Twitter that the repress will be on “space baby blue” vinyl to commemorate the game’s 5 year anniversary and it is limited to 450 copies.

Orders opened on March 24, 2016 and the release started shipping early/mid April 2016.

Loud On Planet X

As part of a succesful Kickstarter for the game Loud On Planet X, backers could opt for a reward that included a 7″ on green vinyl with original music from the game composed by Mike Haliechuk and Jonah Falco (of Fucked Up), Brendan Canning and Justin Peroff (of Broken Social Scene), and Harrison.

The estimated release was October, 2015, however the game and physical rewards (including the 7″) were delayed but shipped out in April, 2016.

FTL: Faster Than Light

A 2LP with Ben Prunty’s soundtrack to FTL: Faster Than Light have been released on 180g “cosmic splatter” vinyl.

It was announced in October 2015 and started shipping late March 2016.

Moon Grotto 7″

A 7″ featuring a track by SCNTFC and their remix of The Ballad Of The Space Babies have been released by Venus Patrol.

This is the “Bright Moon” promo white vinyl version which was shipped out to some Kickstarter backers.

Originally intended as a backer reward for backers of the Venus Patrol gaming website, this was later released for individual purchase through SCNTFC’s Bandcamp.

This is the “New Moon” black vinyl version which is limited to 450 copies.

This is the first pressing which comes in an embossed cover and includes an art print by Cory Schmitz. This was limited to 800 copies.

Super Hexagon EP

Iam8bit released an EP with Chipzel’s music on a hexagon-shaped vinyl record. There is 4 different colors sent out randomly. It is limited to 1600 copies (400 of each color) and was released on November, 2015.

The vinyl version features 2 tracks from the game that was never released on any format before.

This is the red vinyl version.

NOTE TO OWNERS: This release came shipped directly in a PVC sleeve. PVC sleeves are known to cause damage to vinyl records when they are placed directly within without proper protection such as an inner sleeve and/or a record jacket. This is a chemical reaction known as outgassing and the damage done will be permanent. It is highly recommended that you store the record outside of the sleeve.
