In an interview with Limited Run Games Ship To Shore PhonoCo.  announced that they were releasing the soundtrack Phantasy Star on vinyl.

The release features both the PSG and FM synthesis versions of the soundtrack.

The release is a single LP. It is housed in a single-pocket jacket with original archival artwork. It includes an 8-page booklet with additional artwork and liner notes by Jeremy Parish.

Preorders opened on May 17, 2022 and it released in late September, 2022.
