iam8bit releasing a Smash Hit / PinOut double release

iam8bit have just launched a listing for a double release featuring Douglas Holmquist’s soundtracks for the mobile games Smash Hit and PinOut.

The release will be a 2LP on clear vinyl. It comes in a gatefold jacket with new art by Mediocre Games co-founder Henrik Johansson.

Some might recall that Holmquist’s PinOut soundtrack was released as a standalone soundtrack late last year. The tracklist for this new release isn’t up yet so it’s still not clear if it will identical to the older release. This new release will feature an exclusive Chipzel remix, but it’s not been disclosed what game track was remixed.

The release will be priced at $40 and is expected to release Q1 2018. Preorders will open August 3, 2017 at 10AM PT.

Endless pinball game PinOut to have its soundtrack released on vinyl

Yesterday composer Douglas Holmquist opened up for digital orders and vinyl preorders for his soundtrack to the endless pinball game PinOut which is out for iOS and Android devices.

The album comes on blue opaque vinyl in a regular album jacket with art by the game developer’s designer Henrik Johansson. And as it’s only available on Bandcamp it also comes with an instant download of the digital soundtrack. It is limited to 375 copies.

The vinyl version can be preordered now via Holmquist’s Bandcamp for $15 and is scheduled to release on or around December 12, 2016.
