Kingdom Heartbeats

Materia Collective will be releasing the Kingdom Hearts arrangement album Kingdom Heartbeats on vinyl.

The release will be a single LP on clear vinyl. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket inside a printed acetate slipcase with artwork by Leon Tukker. It will be a pressing of 1000 copies.

Preorders opened on April 30, 2019 and it is scheduled to release in September, 2019.

Gaming In Symphony

EuroArts will be releasing selections from the orchestral arrangement album “Gaming In Symphony” on vinyl.

The release will be a single black vinyl 140g LP. It will be housed in a regular LP jacket with original artwork.

Preorders opened on April 23, 2019 and it is scheduled to release on June 14, 2019.

VGM Acapella Volume 1

Yetee Records have released Smooth McGroove’s VGM Acapella Volume 1 album on vinyl.

It is an acapella arrangement album.

The release is a single LP on yellow vinyl. It comes in a regular LP jacket with new artwork by Drew Wise.

Preorders opened on January 23, 2019 and it began shipping out in late March, 2019.

Street Fighter II: The Definitive Soundtrack

Brave Wave have released new remasters of the CPS-1 and CPS-2 versions of Yoko Shimomura’s Street Fighter II soundtrack as a 4LP box set where the CPS-1 LPs will be on orange vinyl while the CPS-2 LPs will be on blue vinyl. The release is the first in Brave Wave’s Generation Series.

This is the 2017 repress on opaque colored vinyl.

 

Symphonic Fantasies Tokyo – Music From Square Enix

Laced Records have released Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra’s Symphonic Fantasies Tokyo on vinyl.

The album is a 3LP on black vinyl with new art by Johnni Di-Doi and Petherton Press. It features arranged music from the games Kingdom Hearts I & II, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and Final Fantasy I-VII + X.

Preorders opened on October 25, 2016 and released mid-December 2016.

Live At Symphony Hall

The Video Game Orchestra launched a Kickstarter for a live album of video game music titled “Live At Symphony Hall” which included a vinyl tier at $250.

The Kickstarter was launched on August 29, 2012 and was succesfully funded on October 9, 2012. The vinyl version was estimated to ship in April 2013.

As of March 2016 the album has launched digitally and on CD, but no vinyl version were made. The band did show interest in a vinyl version in a Facebook post from May 2015.

Kingdom Hearts I & II

New label Novu Records have stated on their website that they are working on vinyl releases for Yoko Shimomura’s soundtracks for Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II. No other words than this so far.

UPDATE: As of late 2016 Novu announced that they will be ceasing operations meaning that this rumor is officially debunked.

The Pink Album

Album done by Kirby’s Dream Band featuring rock covers of music from mainly Kirby’s Dream Land, but also Street Fighter II, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Chrono Trigger, Cave Story, Final Fantasy IV, and Pokémon Red & Blue.

It was self-released after a succesful Kickstarter-campaign in 2013. Limited to 300 copies on pink vinyl.

SQ Trax

12″ EP released in 2011 by Square Enix. It features 6 remixed and rearranged versions of tracks from the games Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy VI, Live A Live, Final Fantasy Adventure, Final Fantasy II, and Chrono Trigger.

Limited to 1000 copies.

Big Twice: Push > Start

10″ on neon yellow vinyl released in 2014 alongside the book “Push > Start: The Art Of Video Games” by Stephan Günzel. It was published by EarBooks.

The 10″ features remixes done by Big Twice of music from the games Castlevania, Super Mario Bros., Mega Man 2, Ninja Gaiden, Street Fighter, Space Harrier, Puzzle Bobble, and Tetris.
