Last Ninja 2

Composer Matt Gray was releasing an updated arrangement album of his music to Last Ninja 2 on vinyl. This is not the same as the arrangement released on vinyl in 2020.

The release would be a 2LP on black vinyl. There are currently no details on packaging.

It was funded via a Kickstarter campaign that ran from March 21 to April 7, 2022. It was scheduled to begin shipping in mid-2024, but was delayed and there is currently no ETA.

With Matt Gray having several vinyl releases from campaigns with year-long delays and no news, we are considering this one cancelled until further notice.

Reformation

Matt Gray announced in a Kickstarter Backer Update that he would be releasing a selection of C64 arrangements from his Reformation project on vinyl.

The release is a black vinyl 2LP. It is housed in a gatefold jacket with design by Sam Dyer, Chris Abbott and Damian Manning.

In late 2018 Matt Gray finished a Reformation 3 campaign that was intended to collect funds for the finishing of physical goods for Reformation/LN2 and Reformation 2.

It was originally slated to release in 2017, however, it was delayed multiple times and and finally released in June, 2022.

SID Chip Sounds: The Music Of The Commodore 64

2LP released in 2012 by Robot Elephant Records. It contains 19 tracks from the games Last Ninja, Trap, Giana Sisters, Katakis, Glider Rider, Panther, Gauntlet III: The Final Quest, LED Storm, Cybernoid 2, Wizball, Comic Bakery, Parallax, Arkanoid, Dominator, Last Ninja II, Commando, and Sanxion.

A successful Kickstarter for Matt Gray’s “Reformation” CD box set included a backer option for a picture disc LP of the remade soundtrack to Last Ninja 2. Release date for Kickstarter backers was set to September, 2015, while orders through C64Audio was set for December, 2015.

In late March 2016 backers received a message asking if they’d like for the album to be a 2LP instead which was positively received and since confirmed to be how it’ll be released.

In late 2018 Matt Gray finished a Reformation 3 campaign that was intended to collect funds for the finishing of physical goods for Reformation/LN2 and Reformation 2.

In mid-2020 the album were submitted to the pressing plant and lacquer cutter and was scheduled to release in Q3 2020. They finally began shipping out in October, 2020.
