Composer Magnus Pålsson confirmed that he was working on a vinyl release for his soundtrack to VVVVVV for the game’s 10th anniversary.

On January 11, 2020 Materia Collective announced that they would be handling the release.

The release is a 180g picture disc LP. It is  housed in a gatefold jacket with new art by Leon Tukker and Isa Alcántara.

Preorders opened on January 11, 2020 and while different release dates where announced, it began shipping out in early February, 2020.
