Black Materia: Rebirth

Mega Ran successfully funded a Kickstarter for his Final Fantasy VII Rebirth rap album “Black Materia: Rebirth”, which included a vinyl backer reward.

The release will be a 2LP on black vinyl. It will be housed in a jacket with artwork by Tony Washington.

The campaign ran between January 25 to February 24, 2024. It was scheduled to release in December, 2024, but has been delayed to Q1/Q2 2025 due to manufacturing delays.

Mega Ran 9

MRI have released the Mega Man 9 hiphop/rap album Mega Ran 9 on vinyl for RSD Drop 1 on Record Store Day 2021.

The release is a single black vinyl LP. It is be housed in a sturdy paper wrap-around with new artwork by Inksworth. It is limited to 500 copies.

It released in record stores on RSD Drop 1 on June 12, 2021.

Black Materia: The Remake

Mega Ran launched a Kickstarter to fund a vinyl release of a remake of his Black Materia hip hop arrangement album of Final Fantasy VII.

The release will be a 2LP with one record on dark green with heavy green and light blue splatter and the other on dark green with heavy blue and light green splatter. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with new artwork.

The campaign launched on October 11, 2019 and was successfully funded on November 10, 2019. It was initially scheduled to release in September, 2020, but was delayed due to COVID-19 delaying the production of the album.

On January 25, 2021 GameChops launched a Bandcamp vinyl pressing campaign for funding additional vinyl copies of this album, which will be the same copies given out to backers of the Kickstarter campaign.

The vinyl release was scheduled to release in May, 2021, but was delayed several times and began shipping out in November, 2021.

Mega Ran 10

Random (also known as Mega Ran) have released an album featuring samples and sounds from the game Mega Man 10. It was released in 2011 on his own label, Random Beats, and was limited to 150 hand-numbered and signed copies on blue solid vinyl.

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Hip Hop Mixtape

The actual jazz music from the game has not seen a vinyl release, but the free hip-hop mixtape that Capcom released for the game has also been released on blue vinyl and is limited to 200 copies.

It was originally for sale at the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con and was given away for “free” with any purchase of $500 or more.
