R-Type Original Sound Box

NIS America announced that would be releasing a box set with a selection of tracks from games in the R-Type franchise on vinyl.

The release is a 5LP set. Each record will be housed in a spined sleeve within a slipcase box set. It alsos include a tracklist booklet and a download card for 370 tracks.

Preorders opened on April 30, 2021 and it released in early July, 2021.

The Pink Album

This is an album made by Kirby’s Dream Band featuring rock covers of music from mainly Kirby’s Dream Land, but also Street Fighter II, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Chrono Trigger, Cave Story, Final Fantasy IV, and Pokémon Red & Blue.

It is a 2LP. It comes in a gatefold jacket with a pink front cover and gatefold art by Maiko with each band member drawn as Kirby.

This is the 2021 repress from Re-Run Records. It comes on “box art” white with pink swirl colored vinyl.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX Original Record

The Pokémon Company have released a promotional record featuring a few tracks from the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team Blue/Red soundtrack.

It is a single LP on black vinyl and is housed in a regular LP jacket with game art.

It has only officially been available via a giveaway on the Japanese Pokémon Twitter account where you could sign up between February 28 to March 5, 2020. 10 copies were given away, but the exact number of copies pressed have not been disclosed.

Supposedly it began shipping out to winners in April, 2020.

Zelda & Chill II

Mikel and GameChops announced that the lofi hiphop arrangement album Zelda & Chill II would be released on vinyl. On November 11, 2020 GameChops launched a crowdfunding campaign via Bandcamp’s vinyl crowdfunding service to release the album on vinyl.

The release is a single LP on “aquamarine” blue translucent vinyl. It is housed in a regular LP jacket with artwork by Mikel.

The campaign ended successfully on December 11, 2020 and the vinyl release was scheduled to begin shipping around March, 2021, but was delayed and released mid-April, 2021.

Bat Out Of HAL

Kirby’s Dream Band have released their video game music rock cover album, Bat Out Of HAL, on vinyl

The release is a single LP. It is housed in a single-pocket jacket with art by Maiko parodying the artwork of Meat Loaf’s “Bat Out Of Hell” album.

Preorders opened on March 20, 2020 and it was scheduled to release in June, 2020, but hit a minor delay and was released in early July, 2020.

This is the variant on red marbled colored vinyl, which is limited to approximately 100 copies. It was supposed to have the same colored swirl as the majority of copies, but the pressing plant made a mistake on the color on around 20% of the pressing so they came out red instead of purple.

Pikachu Records 3rd Anniversary Special Edition

Pikachu Records have released music from the original Pokémon games alongside music from the animated series and movies on vinyl for the labels’ third anniversary.

The release is a promotional single-sided picture disc and comes in a gatefold jacket. It also includes 2 CDs with additional music. The release is numbered and is suspected to be a run between 300-500 copies.

It was released in 2000.

The Pink Album

The release is a single LP. It is housed in a single-pocket jacket with art by Maiko parodying the artwork of Meat Loaf’s “Bat Out Of Hell” album.

The Greatest Video Game Music

X5 Music Group have released the classical arrangement album The Greatest Video Game Music on vinyl. It was originally released on CD and digital in 2011.

The release is a black vinyl 2LP. It comes in a gatefold jacket and includes an insert with credits.

It was scheduled to release in mid-August, but was delayed and released in late September, 2019.

Poké & Chill

Materia Collective have released the Pokémon lo-fi arrangement album Poké & Chill on vinyl.

The release will be a single LP on white vinyl. It comes in a regular LP jacket with artwork by Bespa.

Preorders opened on July 23, 2019 and it released in mid-December, 2019.
