Sony announced that a vinyl release is planned for Horizon: Forbidden West in their vinyl e-mail newsletter. A soundtrack box set was later announced on October 6, 2022.

The release is a 6LP set on dark red translucent, blue and white, gold translucent, orange metallic, dark blue and grey marble colored vinyl. It is housed in two triple gatefold jackets housed inside a box set with a magnetic lid.
The set also includes a slipmat, two art lithographs and two tracklist inserts. Orders placed at the PlayStation Gear store also come with a t-shirt.

Preorders opened on October 6, 2022 and it was scheduled to release on March 15, 2023. However, it was delayed and released on August 11, 2023.
