Input64: A Collection Of Commodore 64 Game Music 1984-1989

2LP released in 2001 by Enduro and L’Age D’Or. It comes with a 24-page booklet. The sound on this wasn’t recorded from a real C64 but from a PC emulating the SID sound chip from the C64. It contains 19 tracks from the games Turbo Outrun, BMX Kidz, Alloy Run, Kinetix, Boulder Dash, The Last Ninja, Crazy Comets, Yie Ar Kung-Fu, Bubble Bobble, Arkanoid, One Man And His Droid, Insects In Space, Boulder Dash II: Rockford’s Revenge, Starball, and Monty On The Run.

It should be noted that the songs on this release were not captured from a real Commodore 64, but from a PC emulator.

Hudson Game Music

Picture disc LP released in 1986 by G.M.O. Records. It contains 12 tracks from the games Star Soldier, Nuts & Milk, Binary Land, Bomber Man, Raid On Bungeling Bay, Championship Lode Runner, and Challenger.

Project Sidologie

During a succesful Kickstarter campaign, for a Commodore 64 music compilation done in the style of Jean-Michel Jarre and Vangelis and created by C64Audio, backers could opt for a double vinyl option. A full tracklist isn’t available yet. It’s currently set for a February, 2016 release.

As of Summer 2018 I was notified that this was scheduled to release around August 2018, however it does not appear to have shipped out to backers yet as of December 2018.

Tel Me More: Game Music Remakes

Ongoing Indiegogo campaing where backs can opt for a vinyl option. The album will feature remakes of Commodore 64 music. There’s not tracklist for the vinyl version, but the CD and digital versions will feature remakes of music from RoboCop 3, Cybernoid II: The Revenge, Rubicon, Hawkeye, Myth, Turbo Outrun, Supremacy, Stormlord, Battle Valley, Cybernoid, Eliminator, and Iron Lord. The campaign ends on August 10, 2015. There’s no release date estimate as of now.

It’s been speculated that this release might not happen since the campaign failed to meet its full goal.

The Piano Collection

During a succesful Kickstarter campaign, for a collection of piano versions of game music composed by Chris Hülsbeck, backers could opt for a double vinyl option. A full tracklist isn’t available but it will feature music from Turrican II and R-Type among others. Backers were set to receive their copies of the vinyl record in late August, 2015.

Orders were later opened in January 2016 for the remaining copies of the album.

Last Ninja 2

A succesful Kickstarter for Matt Gray’s “Reformation” CD box set included a backer option for a picture disc LP of the remade soundtrack to Last Ninja 2. Release date for Kickstarter backers is set to September, 2015, while orders through C64 Audio is set for December, 2015.

UPDATE: As of January 2016 I have yet to see any proof that this has been manufactured or shipped.

UPDATE 2: In late March 2016 backers received a message asking if they’d like for the album to be a 2LP instead which was positively received and since confirmed to be how it’ll be released. There was also a mention that manufacturing will begin soon, although no specific ETA have been mentioned.

UPDATE 3: In late 2018 Matt Gray finished a Reformation 3 campaign that was intended to collect funds for the finishing of physical goods for Reformation/LN2 and Reformation 2.

As of late 2018 there are still regular updates from Matt Gray on Kickstarter, but no release estimate.
