The DOTA 2 soundtrack is getting a vinyl release

A while back a seres of listings for a vinyl release for Valve Studio Orchestra’s DOTA 2 soundtrack appeared on various regional Amazon stores. And now the official preorders are open as well. It is released by US label Ipecac Recordings and it is their second vinyl release for a Valve game soundtrack.

The soundtrack, which is composed by Jason Hayes, will be released as a single LP on red vinyl. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with game art and comes with a download code for the soundtrack.

The LP is set to release on July 28, 2017 and can be preordered from Ipecac’s Bandcamp ($23), US distributor Revolver Merch ($22), and EU distributor Townsend Music (€20). It is also still available via different regional Amazon stores.

Team Fortress 2 soundtrack being released on vinyl in April

This is probably old news to some as a listing for “Fight Songs: The Music of Team Fortress 2” appeared on Amazon around a month ago. But that listing did not include any details on the release other than its title, the label releasing it (Ipecac Recordings) and later also its artwork.

So what’s new? Well, there’s finally an official listing for the release with more details. It will be a 2LP on blue and red vinyl, it will come in a gatefold jacket and will include a poster, a download card for the digital soundtrack, and a game code.
Orders placed through the official merchandise store will get the option to choose between 5 different posters. It’s unclear if orders purchased elsewhere will also come with a poster.

The soundtrack is composed by Mike Morasky and performed by the Valve Studio Orchestra.

The album is scheduled to release on April 21, 2017 and is priced at $35. It can be preordered via the official merch store, Revolt., here. It is also available to preorder from several regional Amazon stores as well as from many independent record stores.
