Retro-Bit are releasing the soundtrack to shoot ’em up R-Type DX, which is a Game Boy Color remake of R-Type I and II. Additionally it will also feature the new music added in the newly released Music Encore port of the game.

The release will be a single LP available in two vinyl color variants – a “plasma” blue translucent swirl colored vinyl variant, and a “cosmic” purple translucent swirl colored vinyl variant (Limited Run Games exclusive). It will be housed in a jacket with new artwork by Paul “Otaking” Johnson and will include an insert with an interview with producer Nobuhiro Yoshikawa.

It is priced at $30/$43 CAD/€40 and is scheduled to release in Q1 2027. It is available to preorder via several distributors in North America and Europe, which can be found on Retro-Bit’s site here.
