It’s Record Store Day on Saturday (April 22) and those who’ve been looking at the official lists might have already seen this one. Warp Records will be releasing Hudson Mohawke’s soundtrack to the game Watch_Dogs 2 on vinyl.
The release – titled “Ded Sec – Watch Dogs 2 OST” – will be a 2LP on black vinyl housed in printed inner sleeves in a regular jacket. It also includes a download card.
As mentioned above this will be released as an official Record Store Day title on April 22, 2017. This means that it will only be available in participating record stores, although it might be available online some time after Record Store Day.
It’s not exactly new news that Spacelab9 will be releasing Jason Graves’ Far Cry Primal soundtrack at this point. It is, however, not until now that they’ve been ready to order.
The album will be a 2LP housed in a gatefold jacket sporting original game art. The release will come in 3 color variants – a white-in-blue translucent “glacier” variant, a brown opaque/translucent split with splatter “cave painting” variant, and a retail black variant.
The release date for the “glacier” and retail variants is April 21, 2017 while the “cave painting” will be out on April 25, 2017.
The “cave painting” variant will be exclusive to Spacelab9’s own webstore. The “glacier” variant is exclusive to ThinkGeek and can be ordered here.
The black variant is for all other retailers and can be ordered now via Amazon.
Spacelab9 recently announced on social media that they will be releasing previously unreleased music made by Ola Strandh for Tom Clancy’s The Division.
The release will be titled “Exclusive Music From Tom Clancy’s The Division”. It will be a 2LP and comes in a gatefold cover with game art. There’s no info on color options, but from an eBay listing for a signed copy from the game’s development studio, it’s clear that there will be a black vinyl version.
The album will go up for sale via Thinkgeek.com tomorrow March 10, 2017 and is expected to start shipping out shortly after.
The arrangement is done by Rémi Gazel who is also the original composer from the game. The arranged album is described as being a “Jazz/Rock/Symphonic/Electro” album.
For this album Rémi have teamed up with some labels who are very much familiar with game music – Black Screen Records and Data Airlines. Black Screen Records will be handling the vinyl release which will be a 2LP with one record on orange and one on blue vinyl. The vinyl tier is priced at €32 (with an early bird tier at €29).
If the €140,000 stretch goal is met a third 12″ record with electro remixes will be added to the release.
The campaign will run from today and until December 16, 2016. If the campaign meets the goal of €50,000 then backer rewards are expected to ship out April, 2017.
Invada have previously released Power Glove’s acclaimed soundtrack to the first entry in the Blood Dragon saga – Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon – on vinyl.
The release will come out on neon pink vinyl and is scheduled to release on December 2, 2016. This post will be updated with links when preorders open.
