13 new Konami Famicom music compilations now available to preorder

Universal Music Japan have announced no less than 13 new vinyl compilations consisting entirely of Famicom and Disk System music from Konami games. The series is titled “Music From Konami Antiques ~Family Computer~” and was also recently released as a CD box set.

Vol. 1 will include music from Gradius, Salamander, Gradius II, and Cosmic Wars.

Vol. 2 will include music from Ganbare Goemon! Karakuridouchuu, Ganbare Goemon 2, Dragon Scroll: Yomigaerishi Maryuu, and Risa No Yousei Densetsu.

Vol. 3 will include music from Konami Wai Wai World, Ai Senshi Nicol, and Wai Wai World 2: SOS!! Parsley Jou.

Vol. 4 will include music from Rush’n Attack (Green Beret), Contra, Jackal (Final Command: Akai Yousai), and Super Contra.

Vol. 5 will include music from TwinBee, Stinger (Moero TwinBee: Cinnamon-hakase Wo Sukue!), and TwinBee 3: Poko Poko Daimaou.

Vol. 6 will include music from Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, Moai-kun, and Kid Dracula (Akumajo Special: Boku Dracula-kun).

Vol. 7 will include music from Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, and Quarth (Block Hole).

Vol. 8 will include music from Lagrange Point, and Falsion.

Vol. 9 will include music from Esper Dream, and Esper Dream 2: Aratanaru Tatakai.

Vol. 10 will include music from Ganbare Goemon Gaiden: Kieta Ougon Kiseru, and Ganbare Goemon Gaiden 2: Tenka no Zaihou.

Vol. 11 will include music from Meikyuu Jiin Dababa, Exciting Billiard, Getsu Fuma Den, and Arumana No Kiseki.

Vol. 12 will include music from Parodius! From Myth To Laughter (Parodius Da!), Yume Penguin Monogatari, and Crisis Force.

Vol. 13 will include music from Crackout (Nazo No Kabe: Block Kuzushi), Exciting Soccer: Konami Cup, The Adventures Of Bayou Billy (Mad City), Yie Ar Kung-Fu, Majou Densetsu II: Daimashikyou Galious, and Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa.

There are currently no cover artwork or details about the packaging announced, although it appears that orders placed through Amazon Japan will also include a 10″ print of the jacket art of the respective release.

They are priced at ¥4400 each and are all scheduled to release on March 27, 2024. They can be preordered via Universal Music Japan here (domestic shipping only) or CDJapan here.

Ship To Shore ready with Gradius Gaiden vinyl preorders

Ship To Shore PhonoCo. are releasing the soundtrack to 1997 PS1 shoot ’em up Gradius Gaiden on vinyl.

The release will be a 2LP available in two vinyl color variants – a “Vic Viper” blue and white swirl variant (Ship To Shore exclusive), and a clear variant.
It will be housed in a jacket with new artwork by Ian Wilding.

It is priced at $40 and is scheduled to release in Q3 2023. It can be preordered via Ship To Shore PhonoCo. here.

Konami lofi chill album now available to preorder on vinyl from Ship To Shore

Ship To Shore PhonoCo. are releasing the official Konami Lo Fi Beats To Chill To arrangement album. It will feature new takes on tracks from Konami games Gradius, Ganbare Goemon, Yie Ar Kung-Fu, Twinbee and Salamander.

The release will be a single LP available in two color variants – a purple swirl colored variant (Ship To Shore exclusive), and a black variant.
It will be housed in a single-pocket jacket with new artwork by Mizucat.

It is priced at $27 and is scheduled to release in Q1 2023. It can be preordered from Ship To Shore PhonoCo. here.

Ship To Shore PhonoCo. to release Gradius ReBirth soundtrack on vinyl

Ship To Shore have just opened up preorders for the soundtrack to the WiiWare-exclusive shoot ’em up Gradius ReBirth on vinyl.

The release will be a 2LP in two variants – a blue and black swirl colored vinyl variant exclusive to Ship To Shore and a clear vinyl variant for retail. It will be housed in a jacket with new artwork.

It is priced at $35 and is scheduled to release in April, 2021. It can be preordered from Ship To Shore PhonoCo. here.

Life Force preorders are now open from Ship To Shore

Ship To Shore PhonoCo. have just opened up preorders for their vinyl release of the soundtrack to the shoot ’em up Life Force (also known as Salamander).

The album will feature music from the NES/Famicom version of the soundtrack on one side and music from the MSX version on the other.

The release will be a single LP. It will be housed in a single-pocket jacket with new artwork from Tbone & Aljax and includes an insert with liner notes by Anthony John Agnello.

It will be available in nothing less than 5 different color variants. A clear variant with orange splatter from Ship To Shore themselves, a gold and purple split with white splatter variant from Black Screen Records, a “Salamander” green smoke variant limited to 125 from Debug Records, a “Brain Golem” purple and red swirl limited to 125 from One Run Records, and finally a clear variant for retail.

The album is priced at $27/€30 and is scheduled to release in April, 2020. It can be preordered from Ship To Shore here, Black Screen Records here, and Debug Records here. The One Run Records variant will be available once they are in stock.

Gradius II, Gradius III and Cosmic Star Heroine preorders from Ship To Shore coming

Ship To Shore PhonoCo. have prepared a massive line-up of new releases and repressings for Black Friday and here you’ll have a breakdown of all six (!) titles. New releases first.

Continuing their Konami partnership they will have preorders for both Gradius II and III available.

Gradius II is a single LP that will feature the Famicom soundtrack on one side and the MSX soundtrack on the other. It will be available in multiple color variants – red vinyl with black splatter and clear vinyl from Ship To Shore, a clear and blue split with blue splatter from The Yetee, and a red-in-clear from Black Screen Records.

Gradius III is a 2LP that will feature the SNES soundtrack on one disc and the arcade soundtrack on the other. It will be available in multiple color variants –  black vinyl with green splatter and clear vinyl from Ship To Shore, a clear and yellow split with yellow splatter from The Yetee, and a green-in-clear from Black Screen Records.

Both Gradius titles feature new artwork by Ian Wilding. Gradius II will come in a single pocket jacket while Gradius III will be gatefold. The artwork for all three Gradius titles line up in one long piece if lined up next to each other.

Cosmic Star Heroine was initially teased more than 2 years ago, but is now finally here. It will feature a selection of 15 tracks from the game picked by the composers.

It will be a single LP housed in a regular jacket with artwork by Drew Wise. It will be available on blue & black vinyl with red splatter from Ship To Shore, and on silver vinyl (limited to 400 copies) from Limited Run Games.

And now repress news! There will be new pressings for MOTHER, MOTHER 2 and Celeste available in new color variants.

MOTHER will be available on blue/yellow split from Ship To Shore,  “Magicant and Flying Man” color from The Yetee, and an unannounced color from Fangamer.

MOTHER 2 will be available on “Tessie” purple from Ship To Shore, on “Fourside and Moonside” color from The Yetee, and an unannounced color from Fangamer.

Celeste will be available on clear vinyl from Ship To Shore.

All titles are scheduled to release in December or Q1 2019 (depending on title and store) and are available to preorder today (although exact times they go live vary from store to store). Here are the links available so far:

The Gradius vinyl soundtrack can now be preordered from Ship To Shore PhonoCo.

Ship To Shore PhonoCo. have announced the release of several Konami titles this year, and now they’re ready with preorders for one of them – the legendary Gradius.

The release will feature the Famicom soundtrack on one side and the MSX soundtrack on the other.

The release will be a single LP in two color variants – blue vinyl with white splatter, and crystal clear. It comes in a single pocket jacket with new artwork by Ian Wilding. The artwork will interlock with the artwork for the upcoming Gradius II and III releases, so putting all three titles next to each other will reveal the full artwork.

Exclusive color variants from The Yetee and Vinyl Digital have also been confirmed, although no word on when those will be available to order.

The release is priced at $22 and is scheduled to release in mid-September 2018. It can be preordered from Ship To Shore PhonoCo.’s store here.

The “Diggin’ In The Carts” compilation is now up for preorder via Hyperdub

Back when the “Diggin’ In The Carts: A Collection Of Pioneering Japanese Video Game Music” album was first made available for CD and digital it had a small note at the store page saying a vinyl version would come later – and now it’s available to order!

Curated by Nick Dwyer and Kode9 as part of Red Bull Radio’s “Diggin’ In The Carts” online radio show on Japanese game music, the album features 34 tracks from 32 different Japanese games from 9 different gaming systems.

The following games are represented: ActRaiser, Alcahest, Alien Soldier, Chatty, Cosmic Wars, Dezaemon, DragonGun, Esper Dream 2, Genpei Toumaden, Gofer no Yabou Episode II, Golden Axe: The Duel, Gradius, Gradius 2, Hisou Kihei X Serd, Illusion City: Genei Toshi, Liquid Kids, Mahjong Touhhaiden, Megapanel, Metal Black, Metal Stoker, Motocross Maniacs, Mouryou Senki Madera, Quarth, Solomon’s Key, Super Royal Blood, Tarot Mystery, Thunder Force IV, Time Cruise II, Valkyrie no Densetsu, Vixen 357, Xak II, and Youjuu Kikouhei WerDragon.

The release will be a 180g 2LP with one orange and one green disc. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with original artwork by Koji Morimito. It will also includes 3 12″ cardboard art prints with a manga, cover art and notes about the creation of this album.
