UPDATE 18/10: It was previously noted that this title is being released by Materia Collective. I have been informed that this is incorrect and the label behind this is Firaga Records, which has now been updated in the post.
In celebration of Undertale’s 5th anniversary Fangamer are releasing the full soundtrack to the game on vinyl for the first time. Previous vinyl releases from iam8bit have featured 41 tracks, while this new set from Fangamer will include all 109 tracks.
The release will be a 5LP box set on light blue, orange, grey, green and red colored vinyl. The box and its printed inner sleeves feature new artwork by Kaori Takizawa. It also includes a booklet featuring liner notes by Toby Fox, Alex Rosetti, Kaori Takizawa and Go Ichinose.
Late yesterday iam8bit announced a two new Undertale releases with Materia Collective in celebration of Undertale’s second anniversary and its Japanese release.
The first release will be a repress of the original Undertale soundtrack in a different cover than the original, which released late 2016. It also features new vinyl colors as the new version comes on blue and red in clear colored vinyl.
Preorders for the Japan Edition placed between September 15-22, 2017 will also include a bonus “Annoying Dog Shrine” 7″, which will feature the Dogsong (also released on bonus 7″ with the original) AND new PlayStation 4-exclusive tracks.
The second release will be of the Determination album, which is a heavy metal arrangement of the Undertale OST by RichaadEB and Ace Waters. This will be a 3LP on red, blue, and purple in black colored vinyl. It will be housed in a jacket with a glow-in-the-dark Sans face with die-cut eyes.
Artwork for both releases were done by Drew Wise, who also did artwork for iam8bit’s original Undertale soundtrack release.
The Japan Edition is priced at $40, while Determination is priced at $60. Both are scheduled to release in Q1 2018 (more specifically in March according to their Japanese announcement).
iam8bit have announced that they are collaborating with Materia Collective on a series of video game music piano cover albums titled Series 88.
The first release in this series will be piano covers of Toby Fox’ Undertale soundtrack. The arrangements for the covers are done by David Peacock and performed by Augstine Mayuga Gonzales.
The album will be a 2LP on 180g cream white and red vinyl. The cover art will be done by Andy DeGiulio and is an homage to classic piano and jazz covers. This art style will supposedly be present throughout this series of piano releases.
Preorders placed before March 19, 2017 comes with a chance to win a copy of the Annoying Dog Song 7″, which was originally released together with the Undertale Soundtrack.
They’ve been teasing “Annoying Dog Day” for a couple of days and now it all makes sense – iam8bit just announced that they are releasing Toby Fox’ acclaimed Undertale soundtrack on vinyl later this year.
The release will feature brand new artwork by Drew Wise (see below) and will be a 2LP in a gatefold jacket. One LP will be on ‘pacifist’ blue while the other is on ‘genocide’ red. As a bonus it also comes with a “Monster Kidz Word Search” insert as well as a download of the full digital soundtrack.
And as an extra bonus – those who preorder the release before September 5, 2016 will receive a limited 7″ on clear vinyl with an “annoying dog” print on the b-side. The 7″ naturally includes the “Annoying Dog Song” from the game.
The album is priced at $35 and is scheduled to release in Q4 2016 and can be preordered now via iam8bit’s US store here and their UK/EU store here.
