Another Video Game LoFi: Kingdom Hearts arrangement album up for preorder from Curaga Records

It’s been a whopping four days since the announcement of Video Game LoFi: Kingdom Hearts from Curaga Records and now they’re already ready with preorders for Vol. 2: The Ocean Between.

The release will be a single LP on “star seeker” purple with pink swirl colored vinyl. It will be housed in a single pocket jacket with artwork by Red Coconut Studio and design by Isa Alcántara.

It is priced at $28 and is scheduled to release in May, 2023. It can be preordered via Curaga Records’ Bandcamp here and from Materia Store here.

Video Game LoFi: Kingdom Hearts is now up for preorder via Curaga Records

Curaga Records have just opened preorders for the vinyl release of the next entry in their lofi hip hop arrangement series Video Game LoFi – and this time it’s the Kingdom Hearts series getting the lofi treatment.

The release will be a single 180g LP on “bond of flame” red marble colored vinyl. It will be housed in a single-pocket jacket with artwork by Red Coconut Studio and design by Isa Alcántara.

It is priced at $28 and is scheduled to release in May, 2023. It can be preordered from Curaga Records’ Bandcamp here and the Materia Store here.

Square Enix are releasing a Kingdom Hearts vinyl box set

Square Enix have announced that they are releasing a Kingdom Hearts vinyl box set with a selection of tracks from the games in celebration of the series’ 20th anniversary.

The release will be a 3LP on black vinyl housed in a box set with artwork made for the 20th anniversary.

It is priced at ¥16500 and is scheduled to release on March 22, 2023. It can be preordered from Square Enix Store Japan here, although it is likely to show up on the North American and European stores soon as well.

Kingdom Hearts arrangement Memories Of The Light now available on vinyl

Mana Wave are releasing the Kingdom Hearts piano arrangement album Memories Of The Light on vinyl.

The release is a single LP available in two color variants – “Sea Salt” blue vinyl, and “Star Fruit” yellow vinyl.
It will be housed in a tip-on spot varnish jacket with new artwork by Elizabeth Sherry.

It is priced at $29 and will be shipping in the first half of October, 2022. It can be preordered from Mana Wave here.

Distant Worlds V now available to order on vinyl

AWR Records are releasing the fifth and latest installment in the Distant Worlds series of Final Fantasy arrangement albums on vinyl.

Distant Worlds V feature arrangements of tracks from Final Fantasy V, VI, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV and XV as well as a series spanning Chocobo medley.

The release will be a 2LP on clear vinyl. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with session photography and credits.

It is priced at $40 and is in-hand and ready to ship. It can be ordered via the official Distant Worlds store here. Please note that they will only ship to the US and Canada at this time.

Final Fantasy character theme compilation up for vinyl preorder via Square

Square Enix are releasing a series of four compilation LPs with character and battle themes from all 15 Final Fantasy main series titles.

Each release will be a single black vinyl LP. They will be housed in tip-on single-pocket jackets with character illustrations by Tetsuya Nomura and will all include a download card.
There is also an option for a version which has all four releases together in a clear plastic slipcase

Please note that if you order from Square Enix Japan you will have to buy all four standalone titles in order to qualify for the slipcase, while the Western stores has the 4LP set as a standalone listing.

They are priced at €33/$37/¥3250 and are scheduled to release between December 6, 2021 and March 28, 2022 (slipcase orders will ship March 28, 2022).

Distant Worlds IV available to order on vinyl now

There’s been unavailable listings on Amazon for some time now, but the fourth entry in the Distant Worlds series of orchestral Final Fantasy albums can now be ordered on vinyl.

IV features arrangements of music from Final Fantasy III-IX and XII-XV.

The release will be a 2LP on clear vinyl. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with photos and liner notes.

It is priced at $35. It looks like the first batch sold out, but that it will ship again from June 28, 2020. It can be ordered on Amazon here.

Novu Records to release the soundtracks to Kingdom Hearts I & II as well as Metal Gear Solid 1 on vinyl?

I received a tweet today informing me of a new vgm vinyl label called Novu Records along with a link to their site. Now the site itself may not reveal much at first glance, but after signing up for their newsletter you’re greeted with this message:

This is all there is to it at the moment, hence the question mark in the title. As there is no other information about this new label and these releases I’m considering this a rumor for now. But I’ll be following up on these news as more is revealed.

New label announces Street Fighter II Arcade OST on vinyl

A new label dedicated to releasing video game music on physical media called Generation Series have announced that it’s releasing the soundtrack to Street Fighter II Arcade on vinyl and CD.

Generation series appears to be a sublabel to Brave Wave, which is a label run by VGM fans and have previously released alternate versions and “inspired by”-VGM soundtracks on CD and digital.

The release info notes:

The soundtrack release will include new remasters of both CPS-1 and CPS-2 versions of the arcade game, extracted directly from the arcade boards and approved by original composer Yoko Shimomura.

The vinyl will be on translucent red and will feature art prints from Capcom’s archives as well as liner notes from Yoko Shimomura. See the artwork below:
