Square Enix to release Final Fantasy III LP

Square Enix Music in Japan have just announced a Final Fantasy III vinyl release in celebration of the game’s 30th anniversary. It will feature 8 tracks – four arrangements and the original versions of those same four tracks.

It will be a single LP, but there are currently no details on the packaging or how the record will look. It will include a download card for a digital copy of the release.

It is priced at ¥3850 and is scheduled to release on November 18, 2020. It can be preordered from Square Enix Store Japan here (please note that they only ship to Japan).

Distant Worlds IV available to order on vinyl now

There’s been unavailable listings on Amazon for some time now, but the fourth entry in the Distant Worlds series of orchestral Final Fantasy albums can now be ordered on vinyl.

IV features arrangements of music from Final Fantasy III-IX and XII-XV.

The release will be a 2LP on clear vinyl. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with photos and liner notes.

It is priced at $35. It looks like the first batch sold out, but that it will ship again from June 28, 2020. It can be ordered on Amazon here.

Nobuo Uematsu piano arrangement album to be released on vinyl by Wayô Records

Wayô Records will be releasing a selection of tracks from Benyamin Nuss’ piano arrangement album “Benyamin Nuss Plays Uematsu” for its 10th anniversary. The album features piano renditions of music from Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey and the Final Fantasy series as well as two tribute pieces that Nuss and Uematsu wrote for each other.

The album will be a single LP housed in a regular LP jacket. It will be available in two variants – a standard black variant, and a collector’s edition variant on black and white split colored vinyl. The collector’s edition will be limited to 300 copies and also comes with a photograph signed by Benyamin Nuss.

The collector’s edition is priced at €24 and the standard at €20. Both are scheduled to release in May, 2020. The collector’s edition can be preordered from Wayô here and the standard edition here.

Final Fantasy VII metal arrangement LP up for preorder

Metal band Knight Of The Round will be releasing their Final Fantasy VII metal arrangement album, SEVEN, on vinyl.

The release will be a double LP on green translucent vinyl with black swirl. It will be housed in a jacket with game-inspired art and the first pressing will be limited to 300 copies.

It is priced at $30 and is scheduled to begin shipping around April 6, 2020. It can be preordered via Bandcamp here.

Arrangement album “The Greatest Video Game Music” to get a vinyl release

X5 Music Group is releasing the classical arrangement album The Greatest Video Game Music on vinyl for the first time. It was originally released in 2011 on CD and digital and is performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

It includes music from the games Advent Rising, Angry Birds, Battlefield 2, BioShock, Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy VII, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, Halo 3, The Legend Of Zelda, Mass Effect 2, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Galaxy, Tetris, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, and World Of Warcraft.

The release will be a 2LP, but there is not a lot of information available about the packaging. It seems it will use the same artwork that was on the CD version, though.

It is priced around £20 and is scheduled to release in August, 2019. Price and exact release date varies between different retailers, though. It can be preordered via Amazon UK here.

Square Enix to release Final Fantasy VII/Remake 2LP

It was announced a little while ago now that Square Enix would be releasing a selection of tracks from the original Final Fantasy VII as well as from Final Fantasy VII Remake together on vinyl. Now official orders open in a few days (and some distributors have already opened up preorders).

The release will be a 2LP picture disc – with art on one disc from the original Final Fantasy VII and art on the other from Remake. It appears to be housed in a triple gatefold jacket.

It’s being advertised as a “limited made-to-order printing”, and it appears they will try to take as many preorders as they can within the production limits of their pressing plant.

The release is priced at €87.77 on the official Square Enix EU Store and as $80 on US Amazon. It is scheduled to release on January 31, 2020.

Final Fantasy metal arrangement album now available on vinyl

The metal band Knight Of The Round, who does covers of music from the Final Fantasy series, have just announced that they are releasing their latest album “War Of The Triad” on vinyl.

The album features metal versions of tracks from Final Fantasy IV, V, and VI.

The release is a single LP on clear vinyl with black smoke. It comes in a regular LP jacket.

It is priced at $30 and is ready to ship. It can be ordered from the band’s Bandcamp here and will also be available from the band at the upcoming MAGFest.

Distant Worlds III with orchestral arrangements of Final Fantasy music is available to preorder now

Previously we’ve been treated to both Distant Worlds and Distant Worlds II on vinyl, so naturally it had been rumored for a while that we would get more in the series. And we are, as Distant Worlds III: More Music From Final Fantasy have just opened up for preorders.

Distant Worlds III features arrangements of tracks from Final Fantasy VI, VIII, IX, X, XII, XIII, and XIV as well as some medleys spanning the majority of the series.

The release will be a 2LP on blue vinyl and will presumably come in a gatefold jacket like the previous titles.

It is priced at $35 and is scheduled to release on December 10, 2018. Preorders are open now via Amazon US.

Distant Worlds II: More Music From Final Fantasy can now be ordered on vinyl

Late last year it was announced that the arranged Distant Worlds recording of music from Final Fantasy was being sold at the concerts, and earlier this year it was available online.

Now the second volume in the series is up to order on Amazon. It appears to be a similar release to the first one as it will be a black 2LP housed in a gatefold jacket with images from the recordings.

It features arrangements of tracks from Final Fantasy I and V-XI performed by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Arnie Roth.

It is priced at $35 and is available to order on Amazon here. It says it’s in stock so it appears it’s ready to ship as well.

Distant Worlds: Music From Final Fantasy 2LP now available online

It was originally released late last year and only sold in the merch booth at Distant Worlds concerts – until today!

Distant Worlds: Music From Final Fantasy is an album of arranged music from the Final Fantasy series performed by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. It contains tracks from Final Fantasy I-IV, VI-IX, and XI.

The music was originally recorded at the Stockholm Concert Hall in 2007.

The release is a 2LP on black vinyl and is housed in a gatefold jacket.
