Earlier this month Brave Wave announced that they will be releasing the soundstracks to the entire The King Of Fighters series on vinyl – starting with The King Of Fighters ’98.
The release will be a 2LP housed in a gatefold jacket with game art. It will include a booklet with artwork and liner notes from the people involved with the game.
There will be a standard black variant as well as a limited edition orange and grey colored vinyl signed by composer Hideki “sha-v” Asanaka.
iam8bit have announced that they will be releasing the soundtrack to the golf-game-turning-not-so-golfish-after-a-while game What The Golf? on vinyl.
The release will be a single LP on “Golden Corndog” orange colored vinyl. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with new artwork by Simon Post. The release will also include a bonus screen-printed slipmat.
Minimum Records have just announced that they will be releasing the soundtrack to the 1999 PlayStation-exclusive rhythm game Vib-Ribbon on vinyl. It will feature the full game soundtrack as well as the bonus track “Rainbow”.
The release will be a single LP on white vinyl cut at 45RPM. It comes in a clear plastic sleeve with a clear art print by Anouvong Southiphong that shows when the record is inserted in the sleeve.
Varèse Sarabande have just announced that they will be releasing the soundtrack to Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empire on vinyl.
This is being branded as the “original video game soundtrack”, although in reality this release, which came out originally in 1996 on CD, is the soundtrack to the novel of the same name (which the game is based on). Only four tracks from this release was actually used in the Nintendo 64 game.
The release is a single LP on black vinyl and will be housed in a regular LP jacket with the original artwork by Drew Struzan from the 1996 CD release.
As announced previously this past week, Brave Wave have now opened up preorders for the vinyl soundtracks to the latest installment in the legendary beat-’em-up series Streets Of Rage as well as the classic fighting game Fatal Fury: King Of Fighters.
The Streets Of Rage 4 soundtrack will be a 180g 3LP set. It appears to be housed in a box set (although this is not confirmed) that will feature new artwork by Hitoshi Ariga and Ayano Koshiro. It will include a booklet featuring interviews with all the composers, Hitoshi Ariga, Ayano Koshiro, and several members of the game’s development team.
It will be available on standard black vinyl as well as on a red, blue and white colored vinyl limited set. The limited set is signed by composers Olivier Derivière and Yuzo Koshiro and is limited to 1000 copies.
The Fatal Fury soundtrack will be a single 150g LP. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with game art. It will include a booklet featuring artwork and liner notes.
It will be available on standard black vinyl as well as on a silver colored vinyl limited edition. The limit set is signed by composer TARKAN and artist Youichiro Soeda and is limited to 400 copies.
Both releases will include a digital download code for the full digital soundtracks to their respective game.
WOOAAARGH and 5FeetUnderRecords released the soundtrack to Figment in 2019, however, it was only available at GamesCom from developer Bedtime Digital’s booth. Now a handful of copies have been made available to purchase online for the first time.

Yesterday iam8bit announced that they would be releasing the soundtrack to the top-down beat ’em up Ape Out on vinyl. As the game’s soundtrack is dynamically created in-game the release comes from a recording of a live-playthrough of the game by developer Gabe Cuzzillo.
The release will be a single LP on 180g black vinyl. It will be housed in a regular LP jacket with new jazz-inspired artwork by Mark Borgions.
It may not be Record Store Day today after all, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have new releases as Respawned Records have just opened up preorders for the vinyl soundtrack to SNES platformer Plok.
The release will be a 2LP with one LP on yellow and the other on red vinyl where the D-side will feature an etching of Plok. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with artwork by the Pickford Brothers. It includes an insert with artwork and notes by the Pickford Brothers and the first 40 orders from Respawned’s own store will have the insert signed by them as well.
