The soundtrack for Earthion is now available to preorder on vinyl

Black Screen Records, Brave Wave and Limited Run Games are collaborating to release the soundtrack to upcoming retro shoot ’em up Earthion on vinyl.

The release will be a 180g 2LP on available in two color variants – a red translucent colored variant (Limited Run Games and Superdeluxe exclusive), and a blue translucent colored variant.
It will be housed in a jacket with new artwork by Mitsuhiro Arita and will feature liner notes by composer Yuzo Koshiro.

Signed copies are also available via Limited Run Games.

It is priced at €39 and is scheduled to release in October, 2025. It can be preordered via Black Screen Records here, and via Limited Run Games here.

UPDATE: When this post first went up I said that it was being released by Superdeluxe Games. This is incorrect and is in fact a collaborative release as now noted. Information about the release has been updated accordingly.

New Gimmick! arrangement album is now up for preorder on vinyl

Brave Wave and Black Screen Records have teamed up to release a brand new arrangement album of music from NES platformer Gimmick! on vinyl. The release also marks the debut of a new series from Brave Wave – the Perspective Series, which will be focusing on arrangements and remixes.

The release will be a 2LP on 180g neon green colored vinyl. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with new artwork by Hitoshi Ariga. It will also include liner notes by original composer Masashi Kageyama.

Black Screen Records also has a limited number of copies available that will come with a card signed by Kageyama.

It is priced at €39 and is scheduled to release in April, 2025. It can be preordered via Black Screen Records here.

Sunsoft Famicom compilation vinyl now available to preorder

Back in 2013 Sunsoft launched a Camp-fire crowdfunding campaign for new game releases of their Famicom catalog. That campaign also included vinyl soundtrack backer rewards at one of its tiers. This vinyl release is now close to coming out and has been made available through distribution from Black Screen Records.

The release includes music from the Famicom games The Wing Of Madoola, Firework Thrower Kantaro’s 53 Stations Of The Toukaido, and Ripple Island. All included tracks are newly sourced from hardware.

The release will be a single LP on gold-colored vinyl. It will be housed in a jacket with game art.

The original campaign was priced at ¥4500, but is up for €29 now. It is scheduled to release in Summer, 2024. It can be preordered via Black Screen Records here.

Brave Wave’s arrangement album GIANTS getting a vinyl release via Black Screen Records

Long in the making, Brave Wave’s arrangement album GIANTS is finally available to preorder. Black Screen Records are handling the vinyl release.
The album will feature new takes on music from Celeste, Gimmick!, Mega Man, Mega Man 2, Mega Man 3, Ninja Gaiden II, Ninja Gaiden III, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Pulstar and Shovel Knight – alongside several new original tracks from a wide range of acclaimed game music composers.

The release will be a 3LP set on 180g “curacao” light blue colored vinyl. It will be housed in a box set with new art by Matt Cummings and Caspian Whistler. It will also include a 20-page booklet.
A deluxe version of the box set is also available, which will also include a tape with demo track and early recordings, a print signed by the participating composers, and the boxes will be individually numbered.

It is priced at €69 for the standard set and €99 for the deluxe version. It can be preordered via Black Screen Records here and via Brave Wave’s Bandcamp here (also fulfilled via Black Screen Records, though). It is scheduled to release in April, 2024.

Streets Of Rage 4: Mr. X Nightmare soundtrack getting vinyl release via Brave Wave

Brave Wave are releasing the soundtrack to the Streets Of Rage 4 DLC Mr. X Nightmare on vinyl as part of their Generation Series.

The release is a single LP on black vinyl. It will be housed in a single-pocket jacket with game art.

It is priced at $30 and is in hand and ready to ship. It can be preordered via Limited Run Games here.

UPDATE: It was previously noted that it would ship in 5-8 months, but this is incorrect and according to Limited Run Games it is actually in stock already.

Brave Wave’s Ketsui -Kizuna Jigoku Tachi- vinyl soundtrack up for preorder

A few days ago Limited Run Games announced that Brave Wave would be releasing the soundtrack to the shoot ’em up Ketsui -Kizuna Jigoku Tachi- on vinyl.

The release will be a 2LP with one record on orange and the other on green colored vinyl. They will be housed in a jacket with game art. It comes with a booklet with art and liner notes as well as a digital download code.
A limited edition of 300 copies that comes with a poster signed by composer Manabu Namiki will also be made available with 250 copies for Limited Run Games and 50 for BigWax.

It is priced at $40/€35 ($50/€40 for the limited edition) and is scheduled to release in Q4 2021.

Brave Wave’s The King Of Fighters ’94 and ’95 vinyl releases up for preorder

Brave Wave have the next two releases in their series of The King Of Fighters soundtracks up for preorder – this time it’s ’94 and ’95 getting the treatment.

Both albums will be single LP releases housed in single-pocket jackets with game art and will come with booklets featuring liner notes and digital download cards.
’94 will come on orange vinyl and ’95 on blue vinyl.

A limited edition bundle featuring both LPs and a poster signed by series director Toyohisa Tanabe. 250 copies of this will be available from Limited Run Games and 50 copies from BigWax.

Both LPs are priced at $28/€25 and are scheduled to release in Q4 2021.

Brave Wave’s The King Of Fighters 2002 vinyl release is now up for preorder

Last year Brave Wave announced that they’re working on releasing the soundtracks to the majority of the games in the The King Of Fighters series and now they are ready with vinyl preorders for The King Of Fighters 2002.

The release will be a 150g 2LP with one record on white and the other on red colored vinyl. It will be housed in a jacket with game art and includes a booklet with art and liner notes as well as a digital download card.
They are also offering a limited edition of 300 copies (250 for Limited Run Games and 50 for BigWax) that include an A4 print signed by artist Eisuke Ogura.

It is priced at €36/$40 for the standard and €46/$50 for the limited edition and is scheduled to release in Q4 2021.

Preorders for Brave Wave’s The King Of Fighters 2000 vinyl soundtrack now live

Brave Wave have previously announced that they plan on releasing the soundtracks to The King Of Fighters ’94-2003 on vinyl before the end of 2022 and now they have opened up preorders for their second release of these – the soundtrack to The King Of Fighters 2000.

The release will be a 150g 2LP with one record on red and the other on blue colored vinyl. It will be housed in a jacket with game art and will include a booklet with liner notes and a download card.
Additionally, there will also be 300 copies with an A4 poster signed by composer Hideki “sha-V” Asanaka available (50 available on BigWax, 250 on Limited Run Games).

It is priced at $40 ($50 for signed) and is scheduled to release in August, 2021. It can be preordered from BigWax here now.

Panzer Dragoon: Remake vinyl soundtrack from Brave Wave up for preorder

Brave Wave are releasing the new rearranged score by Saori Kobayashi for Panzer Dragoon: Remake on vinyl.

The release will be a 2LP with one record on blue and the other on orange colored vinyl. It will be house din a gatefold jacket with game art. It will include a booklet with liner notes as well as a download card.
There will also be 500 copies available, which will come with an A4 poster signed by Saori Kobayashi.

It is priced at €40/$40 (€40/$50 for the signed version) and is scheduled to release in May, 2021.
