Music from AIR and Feel The Magic XX♥XY up for vinyl preorder via Disk Union labels

Ookami Koubou are reissuing the Analog Collector’s Edition 12″ for the visual novel AIR on vinyl for the first time since it’s original limited 2006 release, and Cassetron are releasing the single “I Will Die For You” from the DS game Feel The Magic XX♥XY.

AIR will be a 12″ on black vinyl, which differs from its original pressing, which was a picture disc. It will be housed in a single-pocket jacket with game art. It will include an obi and also come with a slipmat featuring the jacket.

“I Will Die For You” will be a 7″ single on black vinyl. There are currently no details on the packaging for this title.

AIR is priced at ¥7700 and is scheduled to release on December 25, 2024, and “I Will Die For You” is priced at ¥2750 and is scheduled to release on December 4, 2024.

It is likely that additional distributors will be carrying both of these at a later time, but I have not seen it announced elsewhere yet.

12″ single featuring Yakuza’s Bakamitai is now available to preorder

Toyokasei are releasing the popular song Bakamitai from the Yakuza game series on vinyl. It will include the original Taxi Driver Version and the Sorrow acoustic version and both will be included in both a full, short and karaoke version.

The release will be a single 45RPM 12″ on “wine” red colored vinyl (said to match protagonist Kazuma Kiryu’s shirt). It will be housed in a single-pocket jacket with game art.

It is priced at ¥3300 and is scheduled to release for Record Day Japan on November 3, 2024. It can currently be preordered via HMV Japan and Tower Records Japan and it will likely be available from more places in the coming days.

iam8bit to release the Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble on vinyl

iam8bit have just launched preorders for the vinyl soundtrack to platformer Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble.

The release will be a single LP on “banana split” green and yellow split colored vinyl. It will be housed in a jacket with new artwork by Colin Murdoch. It will be limited to 2000 copies.

It is priced at $33 and is scheduled to release in Q4 2024. It can be preordered via iam8bit here.

The Story Of Thor (aka. Beyond Oasis) vinyl soundtrack up for preorder via Wayô Records

Wayô Records have opened preorders for the vinyl soundtrack to The Story Of Thor (probably better known under its North American title Beyond Oasis).

The release will be a 2LP on limited edition yellow marble colored vinyl. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with game art. It will also include a 12-page booklet with liner notes and artwork.
Preorders of the limited edition at Wayô will also receive a shikishi art print with new art by Hitoshi Ariga and signed by composer Yuzo Koshiro.

While not confirmed a standard edition will likely be available from other distributors at a later time.

It is priced at €45 and is scheduled to release in September, 2024. It can be preordered via Wayô Records here.

Virtua Fighter 2 vinyl soundtrack is now up for preorder via Cartridge Thunder

Cartridge Thunder are ready with preorders for the vinyl soundrack to fighting game Virtua Fighter 2. Both the Arcade and Sega Saturn versions of the soundtrack are included on this release.

The release will be a 2LP + 7″ set available in three color variants – an “Akira” red with orange splatter + purple marble variant (Cartridge Thunder exclusive), a clear with red splatter + clear with blue splatter variant (Mondo exclusive), and a standard variant on red and orange colored vinyl.
It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with game art and comes with liner notes by composer Takayuki Nakamura.

It is priced at $46 and is scheduled to release in August, 2024. It can be preordered via Cartridge Thunder here and the Mondo exclusive variant can be preordered via Mondo here.

Data Discs taking preorders for the vinyl soundtrack to Nights Into Dreams

Data Discs are releasing the soundtrack to 1996 action game Nights Into Dreams on vinyl.

The release will be a 180g 2LP available in two variants – a limited edition on purple translucent with white splatter colored vinyl, and a standard edition on purple translucent colored vinyl.
It will be housed in printed sleeves within a single-pocket jacket with glow-in-the-dark game art.

Additionally, the limited edition will also come with a bonus 7″ with the Kids Version and Instrumental Version of the track “Dreams Dreams”.

The limited edition is an open preorder from now and until December 11, 2023 @ 9AM GMT.

The limited is priced at £40 and the standard at £32 and both are set to release in March, 2024. It can be preordered from Data Discs here.

Bayonetta vinyl soundtrack box set now up for preorder from Wayô Records

Wayô Records have just opened up preorders for a vinyl soundtrack release with a selection of music from action adventure Bayonetta.

The release will be a 4LP set in two variants – a limited “lollipop” purple, pink, green and orange marble colored vinyl variant, and a still unannounced standard variant.
It will be housed in a box set with printed jackets. The set will also include a 20-page booklet with liner notes and artwork. The limited edition will also include a shikishi art print and a world map.

It is priced at €84 (price may adjust depending on VAT in your region) and is scheduled to release in December, 2023. It can be preordered from Wayô Records here.

C-Smash VRS getting an EP release from Lost In Cult and Black Screen Records

Lost In Cult Records and Black Screen Records are once again teaming up for a vinyl release. This time it’s for the recently released VR game C-Smash VRS, which is getting an EP release for its Pre-Album EP Release Launch event at Rough Trade in London.

The release will be a 7″ on black vinyl. It will be housed in a regular 7″ jacket with design by Lost In Cult.

It is priced at £15 and is set to release at the launch event on September 15, 2023. There’s a signing at the event and signed copies are also available to preorder from Rough Trade’s website here.

Cartridge Thunder ready with vinyl preorders for the Virtua Fighter soundtrack

Cartridge Thunder have opened up preorders for a vinyl soundtrack release for the arcade and Sega Saturn versions of the Virtua Fighter soundtrack.

The release will be a 2LP available in five color variants – a blue and red split with white splatter variant (Cartridge Thunder exclusive), an orange and yellow swirl variant (Light In The Attic exclusive), a blue and light blue swirl variant (Mondo exclusive, 500 copies), a blue variant, and a classic black variant.
It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with game art and will include a 6-page booklet featuring an interview with the game’s creator Yu Suzuki.

It is priced at $42 and is scheduled to release in July, 2023. It can be preordered from Cartridge Thunder here.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon vinyl soundtrack up for preorder via Laced Records

Laced Records have just launched preorders for a vinyl soundtrack release to the seventh main series entry in the Yakuza series – Yakuza: Like A Dragon.

It will be available in two versions. The first is a comprehensive 5LP set available on both black vinyl and limited edition swirl colored vinyl. It will be housed in a slipcase box set with printed jackets featuring game art.

The second variant is a 2LP selection on maroon and green colored vinyl. It will be housed in a single pocket jacket with printed inners all featuring game art.

The box set is priced at £90 and the 2LP at £33. Both are scheduled to release in August, 2023 and can be preordered via Laced Records here.
