Data Discs teased it late last year and finally confirmed a release date a few day ago. That day is now and orders for their Thunder Force IV (known in the US as Lightening Force) release are now open.
The release will be a 3LP and as usual it will be available in three variants. They will have a limited edition blue, black and grey swirl colored vinyl variant, an opaque blue vinyl variant, and a classic black vinyl variant.
The set will also come with a lithographic print and a fold-out poster with game art. Furthermore, it will not only contain the full game soundtrack, but also 10 unused “omake” tracks.
It was announced in their newsletter last year that Data Discs would release the soundtrack to Space Harrier, but it wasn’t until earlier this week that the details of the release were announced.
The release will include the full arcade soundtrack for the game, but also includes an arrangement of the game’s main theme performed by the S.S.T. Band.
The release will be a single 45RPM 180g LP. It will be housed in a single pocket jacket with original game artwork. It will feature an OBI, a lithographic print of the front art and liner notes by composer Hiroshi Kawaguchi.
As usual Data Discs will offer 3 different color variants for the release – a limited edition green translucent with purple splatter that has a special 3D lenticular jacket, a dark green translucent, and a classic black vinyl version.
As a little bonus 50 randomly chosen copies preordered within the first 48 hours will be signed by composer Hiroshi Kawaguchi.
The release is priced at £20 for the standard versions, and £27 for the limited edition. It is scheduled to release around May 31, 2018.
Data Discs have just announced that they will be releasing Hiroshi Kawaguchi’s arcade soundtrack to After Burner II on vinyl. Not only that, but it will feature an extra disc with arranged versions from the SST Band.
The release will be a 2LP cut at 45RPM. As always there will be three color variants available – a limited edition blue & purple swirl, a purple opaque, and a classic black. It’s housed in a single-pocket heavyweight jacket and comes with a foldout poster with the original game art.
The release will be priced at £25 and is scheduled to release in March 2018.

In mid-December last year Brave Wave announced that they would be releasing a Panzer Dragoon Saga arrangement album titled “Resurrection: Panzer Dragoon Saga 20th Anniversary Arrangement“. Well, now it’s almost here!
What’s really interesting is that the arrangement is done by the original soundtrack’s composer Saori Kobayashi. In an interview with The Verge Kobayashi has stated that: “I was able to achieve the kind of music that I wanted to do 20 years ago“.
Also present on this new arrangement is Eri Ito, Triforce Quartet, and Maho Azuma.
The vinyl release will be a 2LP on lilac colored vinyl. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with artwork by Katsumi Yokota with additional design by Cory Schmitz. The release will include a booklet with essays and liner notes by people who worked on the game as well as archival artwork.
When Data Discs announced Streets Of Rage as their first title all the way back in 2015, they also announced that they would be releasing the entire trilogy on vinyl. Today they finally announced details on the vinyl release for the last entry in the series – Streets Of Rage 3.
The release have been remastered in collaboration with composer Yuzo Koshiro and will also feature liner notes by him.
The release will be a 180g 2LP housed in a heavyweight jacket with the Japanese box artwork. As always there are three color variants to choose from – classic black, translucent orange, and limited edition translucent orange with black smoke.
People who order early directy from Data Discs will also receive 3 matte postcards with artwork from each entry in the Streets Of Rage trilogy (as long as stock lasts).
The release will be priced at £25 and is scheduled to release in late January 2018.
It’s been confirmed that Brave Wave will be releasing the soundtracks to Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 for some time, but now we can soon preorder them.
Both soundtracks will be released as a 180g 2LP sets. Sonic Adventure will come with one record on blue and the other on white vinyl, while Sonic Adventure 2 will come with one record on blue and the other on red vinyl.
Both sets will come in gatefold jackets and include printed inner sleeves, and a booklet featuring liner notes, character art and song lyrics. A download code will also be included for both.
The colored records are only for the first pressing of this release. All subsequent pressings will be on black vinyl.
In addition to the 2LP sets Brave Wave will also release a limited 4LP box set that include both soundtracks. The box set includes a card signed by the games’ lead composer Jun Senoue. The box set will be limited to 300 copies. There will not be a regular box set version.
The 2LP sets are priced at $40/€40 each and the box set is priced at $100/€100. All of the sets are scheduled to release in early 2018.
Preorders open December 5, 2017 via Fangamer for customers in North America at 3PM EST and BigWax for customer in Europe and the rest of the world at 12PM CET.
It was announced a while back, but today Data Discs revealed that they will start taking orders for their vinyl release of Tohru “Master” Nakabayashi’s Altered Beast soundtrack.
The release will be a single LP cut at 45 RPM. As always it will be available in 3 different color variants – classic black, orange opaque, and a limited edition clear with orange splatter. The cover features original art sourced from the SEGA archives and the release also comes with a foldout poster of the box art from the game.
Today Data Discs announced that they will be releasing the soundtrack to the upcoming game Sonic Mania on vinyl.
The release will be a single LP in a gatefold jacket with art from the game. As with most other Data Discs releases this will be available in three variants – classic black, blue translucent, and a limited edition variant that is still TBA as of writing this.
While not confirmed by the label it does appear that this release will not be part of Data Discs typical numbered series of releases.
Today Data Discs revealed a listing for a vinyl release for Norio “NON” Hanzawa’s Gunstar Heroes soundtrack – a title that they announced late last year.
The release will be a 2LP cut at 45RPM. It comes in a single jacket with original and concept art from the game and includes printed inner sleeves and a double-sided poster.
As always Data Discs are making them available in several color variants. There will be a version on classic black, a version with a red and a blue record, and a limited edition version on red and blue split colored vinyl.
