Brave Wave’s arrangement album GIANTS getting a vinyl release via Black Screen Records

Long in the making, Brave Wave’s arrangement album GIANTS is finally available to preorder. Black Screen Records are handling the vinyl release.
The album will feature new takes on music from Celeste, Gimmick!, Mega Man, Mega Man 2, Mega Man 3, Ninja Gaiden II, Ninja Gaiden III, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Pulstar and Shovel Knight – alongside several new original tracks from a wide range of acclaimed game music composers.

The release will be a 3LP set on 180g “curacao” light blue colored vinyl. It will be housed in a box set with new art by Matt Cummings and Caspian Whistler. It will also include a 20-page booklet.
A deluxe version of the box set is also available, which will also include a tape with demo track and early recordings, a print signed by the participating composers, and the boxes will be individually numbered.

It is priced at €69 for the standard set and €99 for the deluxe version. It can be preordered via Black Screen Records here and via Brave Wave’s Bandcamp here (also fulfilled via Black Screen Records, though). It is scheduled to release in April, 2024.

New Mariachi Entertainment System arrangement album up for vinyl preorder

The arrangement album “Contigo En La Distancia Social” by Mariachi Entertainment System is getting released on vinyl by Troggo Studio. It features arrangements of music from the games Halo, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Final Fantasy IV, Sonic The Hedgehog, Donkey Kong Country, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Sayonara Wild Hearts, Shovel Knight, Undertale, Final Fantasy VII, and Street Fighter II.

The release will be a single LP on purple and blue split colored vinyl. It will be housed in a regular LP jacket.

It is priced at $28 (with signed copies available at $43) and is scheduled to release in May/June, 2022. It can be preordered from Troggo Studio here.

Brave Wave’s Shovel Knight: King Of Cards 3LP now up for preorder

Back in 2016 Brave Wave announced that they would release the soundtrack to Shovel Knight and all its upcoming expansions. Now more than 4 years later they are readying their final Shovel Knight release – the soundtrack to Shovel Knight: King Of Cards.

And it’s not just the King Of Cards, but it will also feature the music from Shovel Knight: Showdown as well as a selection of tracks from the original Shovel Knight, that was not included on the first vinyl release.

The release will be a 3LP with one record on gold, one on red and one on white colored vinyl. It appears to be housed in a gatefold jacket that will feature new artwork by Hitoshi Ariga with coloring by Ayano Koshiro. It will include a booklet with artwork and liner notes as well as a download card.
As always there will also be a signed version available, which will come with an A4 poster signed by artists Hitoshi Ariga.

They are also releasing a Shovel Knight Treasure Trove box set, which includes all four Shovel Knight vinyl albums together in a box. If you already have the previous albums you can buy the box set separately as well.

The 3LP is priced at $50/€60 ($60/€60 for the signed version) and the box set is priced at €165. They are all scheduled to release in March, 2021.

Brave Wave preorders for Shovel Knight: Specter Of Torment 2LP is up now

It was announced alongside the original Shovel Knight soundtrack quite a while ago, but now we finally have details on the vinyl release for the Specter Of Torment DLC.

The release will be a 2LP housed in a gatefold jacket with new artwork by Hitoshi Ariga and Ayano Koshiro. It will be available in two color variants – a standard with one disc on red and the other on black vinyl, and a limited edition with one record on gold and the other on silver vinyl. The limited edition is limited to 125 copies in the EU and an unannounced allocation for the US.

As usual it will also come with a booklet with liner notes by people involved with the game and the vinyl release, as well as a download code for a digital copy of the soundtrack.

It is priced at €32 and is scheduled to release in January 2019. It can be preordered from BigWax for EU customers here and it will be available to preorder from Fangamer for US customers on December 4, 2018.

Enjoy The Toons to release arrangement album The 8-Bit Time Paradox on vinyl

It was originally announced via an Indiegogo campaign from late last year, but now it’s gotten a proper announcement from Enjoy The Toons Records and a release date.

The 8-Bit Time Paradox is an arrangement album managed in large part by Giovanni Rotondo. It contains arrangements of music from Metroid, Breath Of The Wild, Final Fantasy VII, Ocarina Of Time, Mega Man, Titanfall 2, Shovel Knight, and Battlefield 1. The tracks are performed by several artists known for their video game music arrangements on Youtube and elsewhere on the internet.

The release will be a single LP housed in a GameBoy game-inspired single pocket jacket with art by Jeff Langevin. It will be available in three color variants – “cartridge” grey, “boss battle” purple-in-clear with white splatter, and “time paradox” purple smoke. The two former are limited to 200 copies each and the latter 100 copies.

The release is priced at $21 through Enjoy The Toons Records, and £23 through Giovanni Rotondo’s Bandcamp.

3 new Brave Wave titles up for order – Art of Fighting, Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows and République

Brave Wave did announce that they would have news on Art of Fighting and Plague of Shadows soon, but now they are already available to preorder alongside the recently announced soundtrack for République.

Art of Fighting will be a single LP on blue vinyl. It’s housed in a gatefold jacket with artwork sourced from SNK’s archives. It includes a detailed booklet with interviews from people who worked on the game as well as a download card for a digital copy of the soundtrack.

Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows will be a single LP on green vinyl. It is housed in a gatefold jacket with new artwork by Hitoshi Ariga. It also includes a booklet with interviews.

République will be a single LP on black vinyl. It is housed in a gatefold jacket. It includes a booklet where the development team writes about the game and the music. It also includes a download card for a digital copy of the soundtrack AND a digital copy of the upcoming VR version of the game.

Art of Fighting and Plague of Shadows will be part of Brave Wave’s Generation Series.

Art of Fighting is priced at $25/€23 and is scheduled to release mid-November 2017. It can be preordered via Fangamer (US) here and BigWax (EU) here.

Brave Wave to release the Shovel Knight soundtrack on vinyl

Brave Wave have updated their Generation Series page to include a Shovel Knight: The Definitive Soundtrack release on 2LP black vinyl. The release have been done in cooperation with original composers Jake Kaufman and Manami Matsumae and is mastered specifically for vinyl.

The release will feature brand new artwork from Hitoshi Ariga who have previously done artwork for Pokémon and Mega Man. The artwork have not been announced yet, but Brave Wave have released a sketch on their announcement page.

There’s no preorder or release date yet, but Brave Wave encourages people to sign up to preorder news on their site.

UPDATE: Brave Wave have answered some questions regarding this release over on NeoGAF. The release will feature 43 tracks which have been chosen and adjusted by Jake Kaufman for this release.

In addition, they plan on sending out the release date two weeks prior to shipping. So there will not be a long wait between ordering and receiving the release.

UPDATE 2: Preorders have now opened for the soundtrack. The title will be on 2LP “armor blue” vinyl.
