Halo trilogy vinyl box set collection now available to preorder from Laced Records

Laced Records are releasing a collection of music from the first three games in popular shooter series Halo on vinyl. It is both available in a box set and as individual releases.

The release will be an 8 LP set available in two color variants – a limited edition green and black “galaxy” swirl, orange and black “galaxy” swirl, and blue and black “galaxy” swirl colored vinyl variant, and a standard edition black vinyl variant.
They will be housed in printed wide-spined jackets within a silver laminate board box all with sleeve artwork by Isaac Hannaford.

The standalone releases will be a 2LP and two 3LPs for Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, and Halo 3 respectively. The vinyl colors available and jackets will be identical to those within the box set.

The box is priced at £140, Halo: Combat Evolved at £36 and Halo 2+3 at £50 each and all are set to release in April, 2025. They can be preordered from Laced Records here.

Cello VGM arrangement album by Tina Guo now up for vinyl preorder via Silva Screen

Silva Screen Records are releasing cellist Tina Guo’s video game music arrangement album “Game On!” from 2017 on vinyl. It features arranged music from The Legend Of Zelda, Final Fantasy VII, Chrono Trigger, World Of Warcraft, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Uncharted, Super Mario Bros., Pokémon, Journey, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Halo, Metal Gear Solid, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Tetris.

The release will be a 2LP on “polar” white colored vinyl. It will be housed in a jacket with art identical to its CD release with design by Paul Marc Mitchell and photography by Viktorija Pashuta.

It is priced at €38 and is scheduled to release in mid-May, 2024. It can be preordered via Silva Screen Records here.

New Mariachi Entertainment System arrangement album up for vinyl preorder

The arrangement album “Contigo En La Distancia Social” by Mariachi Entertainment System is getting released on vinyl by Troggo Studio. It features arrangements of music from the games Halo, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Final Fantasy IV, Sonic The Hedgehog, Donkey Kong Country, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Sayonara Wild Hearts, Shovel Knight, Undertale, Final Fantasy VII, and Street Fighter II.

The release will be a single LP on purple and blue split colored vinyl. It will be housed in a regular LP jacket.

It is priced at $28 (with signed copies available at $43) and is scheduled to release in May/June, 2022. It can be preordered from Troggo Studio here.

Mondo are releasing the Halo Infinite soundtrack on vinyl

Mondo have opened preorders for a vinyl release for the soundtrack to the latest installment in the Halo series – Halo Infinite.

The release will be a 180g 2LP available in two variants – a orange and brown colored vinyl variant, and a black vinyl variant.
It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with new artwork by Ken Taylor. It will also include an insert with liner notes by composers Gareth Coker, Joel Corelitz and Curtis Schweitzer.

It is priced at $35 and is scheduled to release in February, 2022. It was available to preorder from Mondo here, although it has unfortunately sold out as of this post going live. However, Mondo have already confirmed that more copies will be available to order sometime in the 2022.

16-bit Halo arrangement album up for preorder via Respawned

Respawned Records have just announced their “Demastered” series, which will be a series of modern game soundtrack demastered to appear as if they were 16-bit SNES soundtracks. The first soundtrack to get the demaster treatment is the soundtrack to the classic first-person shooter Halo.

The release will be a single LP available in two color variants – “Chief” green & orange swirl colored vinyl, and “Cortana” purple & black swirl colored vinyl. They will be limited to 500 copies each.
It will be housed in a regular LP jacket with new artwork by Tom Pollock Jr. and will include an insert.

It is priced at $28 and is scheduled to release in late Q1 2021. It can be preordered from Respawned Records here.

Orchestral album “Gaming In Symphony” to be released on vinyl

EuroArts have announced that they will be releasing a selection of tracks from the orchestral album “Gaming In Symphony” on vinyl. The album will feature music from Uncharted 2, Assassin’s Creed II, Grim Fandango, World Of Warcraft, and the Halo trilogy.
There is also a gaming legacy medley with music from F-Zero, DOOM, Castlevania, Sonic the Hedgehog, Street Fighter II, and Super Mario Bros.

The release will be a 140g black vinyl single LP housed in a regular LP jacket with original cover art.

The price varies a bit depending on the retailer, but is around €20-25. It is scheduled to release on June 14, 2019. It can be preordered on Amazon Germany here and there’s a page for Amazon US here (although it is not available to preorder yet there).
