Out of nowhere a listing has appeared on iam8bit’s webstore for the Planet Coaster soundtrack by Jim Guthrie and JJ Ipsen. Guthrie had previously hinted about a vinyl release of this on his Twitter account, but these are the first specifics announced.
The release will be a 2LP on “day-turns-to-night” blue and red vinyl. It comes in a gatefold cover with the discs housed in printed inner sleeves, and with all new artwork by Syd Weiler. It also comes with a digital download for the soundtrack.
People who order before March 19 will get an extra bonus in the shape of a limited edition slipmat.
The release is scheduled for a Q2 2017 release, and it can be preordered now via iam8bit’s US store here or their UK/EU store here.
Spacelab9 recently announced on social media that they will be releasing previously unreleased music made by Ola Strandh for Tom Clancy’s The Division.
The release will be titled “Exclusive Music From Tom Clancy’s The Division”. It will be a 2LP and comes in a gatefold cover with game art. There’s no info on color options, but from an eBay listing for a signed copy from the game’s development studio, it’s clear that there will be a black vinyl version.
The album will go up for sale via Thinkgeek.com tomorrow March 10, 2017 and is expected to start shipping out shortly after.
This is probably old news to some as a listing for “Fight Songs: The Music of Team Fortress 2” appeared on Amazon around a month ago. But that listing did not include any details on the release other than its title, the label releasing it (Ipecac Recordings) and later also its artwork.
So what’s new? Well, there’s finally an official listing for the release with more details. It will be a 2LP on blue and red vinyl, it will come in a gatefold jacket and will include a poster, a download card for the digital soundtrack, and a game code.
Orders placed through the official merchandise store will get the option to choose between 5 different posters. It’s unclear if orders purchased elsewhere will also come with a poster.
The soundtrack is composed by Mike Morasky and performed by the Valve Studio Orchestra.
The album is scheduled to release on April 21, 2017 and is priced at $35. It can be preordered via the official merch store, Revolt., here. It is also available to preorder from several regional Amazon stores as well as from many independent record stores.

The recordings will be from the games’ arcade soundtracks and have been sourced directly from original arcade hardware and then mastered for vinyl.
Preorders for this title will open on Saturday March 4, 2017 via Data Discs website and it is expected to ship late March, 2017.

It was teased on social media some time ago, but today Mondo announced the vinyl release of the Contra III: The Alien Wars soundtrack. The soundtrack is by Konami Kukeiha Club and this will be Mondo’s first Contra release (with more to follow later).
The release will be a single 180g LP and comes in a jacket with new artwork from Paul Mann. The release will be available in two color variants – clear with red splatter and blue/red split with white splatter. The former will be limited to 500 copies.

…and no, it’s not identical to the variant that iam8bit released late last year.

This will be a single LP on red translucent vinyl featuring artwork identical to the digital release of the soundtrack. It will also include a digital download for the soundtrack. This red vinyl version will be limited to 1000 copies.
And to follow up on this post’s first sentence – the release itself isn’t identical to the iam8bit variant, but the tracklist is.
It is priced at $16 and scheduled for an April 22, 2017 release. Preorders are open now via Thrill Jockey’s webstore.

It’s been possible to follow the progress of Heavy Metal Raiden self-titled debut album on Twitter for a while, but now it’s finally up for preorder.
Heavy Metal Raiden is not just a cover band, though, as its members include original Raiden composers Akira Sato and Go Sato.
As the band name implies, Heavy Metal Raiden plays heavy metal covers of music from the arcade shooter game series Raiden (and related games). This album will be a single LP featuring tracks from Raiden II-IV, Raiden Fighters, and Viper Phase 1.
The A side features live recordings from 2011 recorded at Club Goodman in Akihabara, Tokyo, while the B side features brand new studio recordings.
The album is scheduled to release on March 25, 2017 and is priced at 6264 Yen (~$55). It can be pre-ordered from bootleg! Records’ brand new international online store here.

The record is scheduled to release Q2 2017 and is limited to 2000 copies.
Preorders will open February 16, 2017 via iam8bit’s US store here and their UK/EU store here.
