Earlier this week Mondo finally announced that they will be taking orders for the vinyl soundtracks to Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night and Castlevania: Rondo Of Blood/Dracula X.
Symphony Of The Night will be a 180g 2LP available in three different color variants – a limited edition of 1000 copies on bone white, gold, and black tricolor vinyl variant, a bone and silver swirl with white splatter vinyl variant, and a red translucent vinyl variant. It will come in a gatefold jacket with new artwork by Jasmin Darnell.
Symphony Of The Night will include 41 tracks from the game including 7 tracks from the Sega Saturn version.
Rondo Of Blood/Dracula X will be a 180g 2LP with one record on red translucent with black splatter and the other on blue translucent with black splatter colored vinyl. It will come in a gatefold jacket with new artwork by Oliver Barrett.
A limited edition of 250 red/blue split colored copies of this was previously sold at Mondo’s booth at San Diego Comic-Con, but sold out during the event.
The titles are priced at $35 each and are both expected to begin shipping in early November, 2018. They will be available from Mondo’s store on October 24, 2018 at noon CT.
Last week it was confirmed that Mondo would release the soundtrack to Castlevania on vinyl, but today they confirmed via Mashable that they have many more Konami titles coming out. Hold on to your hats everyone because this is what they have in store for us – Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, Super Castlevania IV, Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night, Contra, and – one of the most requested titles – Silent Hill!
So far it’s just been announced that the first release will be Castlevania, which will be available at the San Diego Comic-Con in July. This likely means that a release for the general public will be available online shortly after (which is what they did with their The Last Of Us release).
Following Mondo’s announcement today and Ship To Shore PhonoCo.’s earlier Konami announcement it’s safe to say that Konami are going all in on getting their soundtracks out on vinyl.
But this is not today’s only announcement. iam8bit also announced that they will be releasing Petri Alanko’s Quantum Break soundtrack on vinyl. The release will be on 180g white with colored splatter vinyl and will feature new artwork by Christina Mrozik.
The release is limited to 3000 copies and is set for a Q3 2016 release.
It can be preordered via iam8bit’s US store here and their UK store here.
And we’re not quite done yet. Finally, it was announced on Twitter today that Doseone’s soundtrack to the new indie title Enter The Gungeon will also see a vinyl release. No specifics have been revealed about that one yet, though.
