Respawned Records have opened up vinyl preorders for the Battletoads metal arrangement album Metaltoads.
The release is a single LP on “Toadjam” orange translucent with black splatter colored vinyl. It is housed in a gatefold jacket with artwork by Satterion. It is a pressing of 500 copies.
The release will be a 2LP on “Pimple” pink. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with 3D pop-up fist artwork by Alex Pardee. 500 randomly chosen preorders from iamb8it will also get a “Rash’s Toadally Rad Adventure” cassette tape.
Because I’m typing faster than iam8bit can upload their store I completely missed out on the other two releases in the previous post on Conker’s Bad Fur Day so here goes!
Grant Kirkhope’s soundtrack to Viva Piñata and David Wise’s soundtrack for Battletoads In Battlemaniacs are also both getting released for Black Friday.
Viva Piñata will be a 2LP on “sweet and sour” pink and green colored records. It will be housed in a jacket with new artwork by Ashton Dame.
Battletoads In Battlemaniacs will be a single LP on “toad” multicolor starburst vinyl. It will be housed in a jacket with new artwork by Dima Drjuchin.
Both will be remastered for these vinyl releases and include digital downloads (sent via e-mail and only if ordered from iam8bit).
Viva Piñata will be priced at $35 and Battletoads In Battlemaniacs at $28. Both are scheduled to release in Q2 2018.
David Wise’s Battletoads soundtrack will have very similar artwork and the same vinyl color as the SDCC Comic Con exclusive version, but will not have an embossed cover or a sound chip. It will also feature different gatefold artwork.
Grant Kirkhope’s Banjo Kazooie soundtrack will be on 2LP and come one brown and one red vinyl record. Grant Kirkhope, Graeme Norgate and David Clynick’s Perfect Dark soundtrack will also be a 2LP and come on red and blue splatter vinyl.
Update: All three are scheduled to be released in November.
All three releases will be limited to 3000 copies each. See artwork and vinyl colors below.
The initial pressing will be limited to 300 copies available exclusively at this years San Diego Comic-Con with exclusive artwork by Nick Gazin (known for doing the artwork to Run The Jewels’ releases) and with light green-in-green vinyl color effect . The whole shabang is being handled by iam8bit, who have said that there will be a release available for the general public later on, which will feature different artwork.
