Curaga Records are releasing a new title in their Video Game LoFi series on vinyl and this time it’s a lofi arrangement of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest getting released.
The release is a single LP on 180g black vinyl. It is housed in a single-pocket holo-foil jacket with artwork by Save Point
Cartridge Thunder have opened up preorders for the vinyl soundtrack release of Donkey Kong Country 2 arrangement album, Banana Jamz 2.
The release will be a 2LP available in three color variants – a clear with pink and yellow splatter variant, a “Lost World” red and orange swirl variant (Light In The Attic exclusive), and a red with yellow splatter variant (Ship To Shore exclusive). It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with new artwork by Gobo 3D.
Respawned Records have opened up vinyl preorders for the Battletoads metal arrangement album Metaltoads.
The release is a single LP on “Toadjam” orange translucent with black splatter colored vinyl. It is housed in a gatefold jacket with artwork by Satterion. It is a pressing of 500 copies.
The release will be a 2LP on “Pimple” pink. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with 3D pop-up fist artwork by Alex Pardee. 500 randomly chosen preorders from iamb8it will also get a “Rash’s Toadally Rad Adventure” cassette tape.
Fangamer have been quiet with new releases recently, but that just changed as they’ve announced not one, not two, but three new soundtrack releases. First is the NES and Mega Drive/Genesis soundtracks to platformer Snake Rattle ‘N’ Roll, then the soundtrack to action-adventure Concrete Genie, and finally the VR platformer Astro Bot: Rescue Mission.
Snake Rattle ‘N’ Roll will be a single LP on clear with red and blue splatter colored vinyl. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with new artwork by Aimee Cairns. It will also include new liner notes by composer David Wise.
Concrete Genie will be a single LP on clear with pink, green, purple and blue splatter colored vinyl. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with new art by Jeff Sangalli and Taylor Lambert and layout by Brian Carmody.
Astro Bot: Rescue Mission will be a single LP on white vinyl. It will be housed in a single-pocket jacket with new artwork by Chris Clancy and layout by Brian Carmody.
Super Rare Games recently announced their second vinyl release, which will be David Wise’s soundtrack to the game Snake Pass. It releases alongside physical Nintendo Switch copies.
The release will be a single LP on black vinyl. It will be released in a gatefold jacket with game art. The album will be limited to 500 copies.
Because I’m typing faster than iam8bit can upload their store I completely missed out on the other two releases in the previous post on Conker’s Bad Fur Day so here goes!
Grant Kirkhope’s soundtrack to Viva Piñata and David Wise’s soundtrack for Battletoads In Battlemaniacs are also both getting released for Black Friday.
Viva Piñata will be a 2LP on “sweet and sour” pink and green colored records. It will be housed in a jacket with new artwork by Ashton Dame.
Battletoads In Battlemaniacs will be a single LP on “toad” multicolor starburst vinyl. It will be housed in a jacket with new artwork by Dima Drjuchin.
Both will be remastered for these vinyl releases and include digital downloads (sent via e-mail and only if ordered from iam8bit).
Viva Piñata will be priced at $35 and Battletoads In Battlemaniacs at $28. Both are scheduled to release in Q2 2018.
Today Laced Records announced that they will be releasing the soundtrack to the upcoming platformer Yooka-Laylee to vinyl. The soundtrack is composed by Grant Kirkhope, David Wise, and Steve Burke.
The soundtrack will be released as a 180g 2LP with one record on green and the other on purple vinyl. It will feature original art from Playtonic Games and includes the digital soundtrack as well.
The game itself is out on April 10, 2017, but the soundtrack will be out a few days before on April 7. You can preorder it now via Laced Records’ store (and you can listen to some of the tracks there as well).
David Wise’s Battletoads soundtrack will have very similar artwork and the same vinyl color as the SDCC Comic Con exclusive version, but will not have an embossed cover or a sound chip. It will also feature different gatefold artwork.
Grant Kirkhope’s Banjo Kazooie soundtrack will be on 2LP and come one brown and one red vinyl record. Grant Kirkhope, Graeme Norgate and David Clynick’s Perfect Dark soundtrack will also be a 2LP and come on red and blue splatter vinyl.
Update: All three are scheduled to be released in November.
