Fangamer have just announced that they are releasing a vinyl box set containing 41 tracks from the Banjo-Kazooie soundtrack.
The set will have 4 LPs on black vinyl. It will be housed in a slipcase box set with new art by Andrew Kolb with each record housed in a printed jacket. The set will also include a double-sided insert with liner notes by composer Grant Kirkhope. Order placed through Fangamer will include a digital download of the full 164 tracks from the soundtrack.
Ultra Combo – the official Killer Instinct website – have announced that the soundtrack to the first Killer Instinct game will be released on vinyl via iam8bit. The soundtrack is composed by Robin Beanland and Graeme Norgate and is titled Killer Cuts.
There will be three different versions of the soundtrack – one on Sabrewulf purple vinyl, one on Spinal clear vinyl, and a limited edition Fulgore green vinyl version. What’s special about the Fulgore version is that it will only be for sale during the EVO weekend (July 15-17) and after that it will be sold out forever. Additionally, people who purchase the Fulgore variant are also entered in a draw to win the custom-made Fulgore puppet used for the cover art. A download code for the digital soundtrack is included as well.
The artwork on these is done by Cory Schmitz, Ben Sifel, Austin James & Seth Cuddeback, while the puppets for the artwork has been done by Chelsea Bayouth.
As a nice little touch the records end in a locked groove on side A which will play the “c-c-c-combo breaker” shout.
David Wise’s Battletoads soundtrack will have very similar artwork and the same vinyl color as the SDCC Comic Con exclusive version, but will not have an embossed cover or a sound chip. It will also feature different gatefold artwork.
Grant Kirkhope’s Banjo Kazooie soundtrack will be on 2LP and come one brown and one red vinyl record. Grant Kirkhope, Graeme Norgate and David Clynick’s Perfect Dark soundtrack will also be a 2LP and come on red and blue splatter vinyl.
Update: All three are scheduled to be released in November.
All three releases will be limited to 3000 copies each. See artwork and vinyl colors below.
The initial pressing will be limited to 300 copies available exclusively at this years San Diego Comic-Con with exclusive artwork by Nick Gazin (known for doing the artwork to Run The Jewels’ releases) and with light green-in-green vinyl color effect .
