The soundtrack to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is being released on vinyl by iam8bit

iam8bit are releasing the soundtrack to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on vinyl, and yeah, while it’s not a video game it is essentially an arrangement album of music from various Super Mario (and other Nintendo) games. iam8bit also released the soundtrack to the previous Super Mario movie on vinyl back in 2023.

The release will be a 2LP available in four vinyl color variants:

“Wonder Armor/Bowser Jr.” purple marble colored vinyl (iam8bit exclusive),
“Luma” yellow colored vinyl (retail)
“Luma” green colored vinyl (FYE exclusive)
“Luma” red colored vinyl (UMAA exclusive)

It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with new artwork by Scott Saslow and will feature glow-in-the-dark and spot varnish finishes.

It is priced at $43 and is scheduled to release in Q3 2026. It can be preordered via iam8bit here.

The retail variant is available from many different distributors, the FYE exclusive variant can be preordered here, and the UMAA exclusive variant does not appear to be available yet.

iam8bit are now taking preorders for the vinyl soundtrack to the newly released The Super Mario Bros. movie. And yes, I know what you’re thinking. “This is not a video game”! And you’re right. But it does feature arrangements from several games in the Super Mario series, so close enough.

The release will be a 2LP available in two color variants – a “Mario & Luigi” red and green colored vinyl variant, and a “Princess Peach” pink and yellow colored vinyl variant (iam8bit exclusive).
It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with promotional artwork from the movie.

It is priced at $43 and is scheduled to release in Q3 2023. It can be preordered from iam8bit here.

Laced Records ready with preorders for Assassin’s Creed

Laced Records have just opened up preorders for a soundtrack compilation to open world action-adventure series Assassin’s Creed on vinyl for the series’ 15th anniversary. It will feature a selection of music from all 12 mainline games.

The release will be a 5LP box set available in two color variants – a limited edition gold “nugget” colored variant and a standard black variant.
It will be housed in a rigid slipcase box set with game art. The limited edition will also include a slipmat and an art print.

It is priced at £100 for the limited and £90 for the standard and is scheduled to release in January, 2023. The limited edition can be preordered from Laced here and the standard edition here.
