iam8bit have just announced that they will be releasing Motoaki Furukawa’s soundtrack to the 1991 arcade game Sunset Riders on vinyl. The release comes out in commemoration of the game’s 25th anniversary.
The release comes on a “clear smoke” 10″ record in a jacket with brand new artwork by Drew Wise. The jacket comes with die-cut bullet holes to match the game’s Western theme.
Preorders have opened now and the release, which is limited to 1000 copies, is scheduled to go out in Q2 2017.
The release will be a single LP on translucent lavender-colored vinyl. It will be housed in a heavy-weight sleeve with UV gloss and includes inner sleeves with game art. The release will be limited to 300 copies.
It will be priced at $28 and go up for sale on Wednesday via Gamer’s Edition and Mondo. There’s no specific release date, but Gamer’s Edition are hoping to ship them out before Christmas.
A listing for a 12″ with two Low Roar songs used in the trailers for the upcoming PlayStation 4 game Death Stranding have appeared on Mondo’s website.

Today iam8bit announced that they will be releasing Austin Wintory’s score to the diving exploration game Abzû.
The album will be available as a 2LP set on 180g oceanic blue vinyl and will come with original cover artwork done by Nimit Malavia. As an early preorder incentives orders placed during the Black Friday weekend (November 25th to 28th) will feature a special bioluminescent/glow-in-the-dark cover. Orders placed after that will come in a regular cover – the glow-in-the-dark effect will be the only difference.
iam8bit are no strangers to Austin Wintory’s works as they’ve previously released his Journey and The Banner Saga scores as well as releasing his The Banner Saga 2 score this December.
Yesterday a listing for a vinyl release of the soundtrack to the smartphone game Two Dots appeared on Bandcamp. The release contains most of the music from the three volumes of the games soundtrack, which is composed by Cody Uhler & Ross Wariner.

The release is priced at $50 and only 100 copies have been pressed. Orders opened on November 17 and it will begin shipping shortly.
