Ben Briggs VGM arrangement album up for vinyl order via Firaga Records

Firaga Records have opened vinyl orders for a new entry in their VGM Essentials series and this time it’s an arrangement album by Ben Briggs getting the vinyl treatment. It features covers of music from Chrono Trigger, Killer Instinct, The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker, Diddy Kong Racing, Super Mario 64, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, Sonic Colors and Super Mario Galaxy.

The release is a single LP on 180g black vinyl. It is housed in a single-pocket jacket with artwork by Ginkgo.

The 8-Bit Time Machine vinyl release now up for order

The 8-Bit Time Machine is a 2014 arrangement album of chiptune renditions of modern game music. It features tracks from the following games: Angry Birds, Battlefield 1942, Braid, Destiny, The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Portal, Super Mario Galaxy and Watch Dogs.

The release will be a single LP available in three variants – an “NES” black, silver and grey tricolor with red splatter (limited to 100 copies), a “Tri-Force” dark green on light green pinwheel with pink splatter (limited to 200 copies), and a “Time Warp” blue, red and purple swirl (limited to 200 copies, Respawned exclusive).
It will be housed in a single-pocket jacket with new artwork and include a double-sided insert.

Windbound soundtrack and Super Mario Galaxy arrangement now up via Mana Wave

Mana Wave Media have just opened up preorders for two new releases. The first is the soundtrack to the indie adventure RPG Windbound and the other is the Super Mario Galaxy arrangement album Star Stories.

Windbound will be a single LP available in two variants – “Seashore” blue marbled colored vinyl (exclusive to Mana Wave), and a standard edition “Cloudy Skies” clear with white marble.
It will be housed in a single-pocket jacket with new artwork by Jennifer A. Reuter.

Star Stories will be a single 45RPM LP on blue swirl with white splatter colored vinyl. It will be housed in a single-pocket tip-on jacket with new artwork by Annie Startseva.

Windbound is priced at $28 and Star Stories at $30. Both are scheduled to release in Q4 2021.

Arrangement album “The Greatest Video Game Music” to get a vinyl release

X5 Music Group is releasing the classical arrangement album The Greatest Video Game Music on vinyl for the first time. It was originally released in 2011 on CD and digital and is performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

It includes music from the games Advent Rising, Angry Birds, Battlefield 2, BioShock, Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy VII, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, Halo 3, The Legend Of Zelda, Mass Effect 2, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Galaxy, Tetris, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, and World Of Warcraft.

The release will be a 2LP, but there is not a lot of information available about the packaging. It seems it will use the same artwork that was on the CD version, though.

It is priced around £20 and is scheduled to release in August, 2019. Price and exact release date varies between different retailers, though. It can be preordered via Amazon UK here.
