Final Fantasy XI compilation now up for preorder from Square Enix

Square Enix are releasing a compilation of music from their MMORPG Final Fantasy XI and all its expansions on vinyl for the game’s 20th anniversary.

The release will be a single picture disc LP. It appears to be housed in a PVC-jacket with cardboard backing. The picture disc features a new illustration by Fumio Minagawa,

It is priced at ¥4950 and is scheduled to release on March 17, 2023. It can be preordered from Square Enix Japan here (please note that they only offer domestic shipping).

It has been confirmed that the EU and NA Square Enix stores will also be offering this, however, as of this post it was not up on either of these.

Final Fantasy Chocobo compilation vinyl releases up for preorder via Square

Square Enix have opened up preorders for two new Final Fantasy compilation albums titled “Chocobo + Friends”. They will include all (or at least almost all) Chocobo themes from throughout the main series plus some bonus tracks.

Both titles will be single LPs and will be housed in a single pocket jacket featuring new illustrations by Toshiyuki Itahana.

They are priced at ¥3520 each (with a bundle option available at ¥7080) and are scheduled to release on May 25, 2022. They can currently only be preordered via the Japanese Square Enix store with no international shipping options.

Distant Worlds V now available to order on vinyl

AWR Records are releasing the fifth and latest installment in the Distant Worlds series of Final Fantasy arrangement albums on vinyl.

Distant Worlds V feature arrangements of tracks from Final Fantasy V, VI, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV and XV as well as a series spanning Chocobo medley.

The release will be a 2LP on clear vinyl. It will be housed in a gatefold jacket with session photography and credits.

It is priced at $40 and is in-hand and ready to ship. It can be ordered via the official Distant Worlds store here. Please note that they will only ship to the US and Canada at this time.

Resident Evil 1&2 vinyl soundtrack preorders open via Laced Records

Laced Records have just announced that they will be releasing the soundtracks to Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 on vinyl.

Resident Evil have the 2002 GameCube remake soundtrack and Resident Evil 2 the 1998 original soundtrack.

Both releases will be on 180g 2LPs housed in gatefold jackets with an obi on.
Resident Evil is available on blue and black smoke vinyl, and classic black vinyl.
Resident Evil 2 is available on red and black smoke vinyl, and classic black vinyl.

The releases are priced at €33/$35 each and are scheduled to release in April 2019. It can be ordered from Laced Records here.
